I'm not from the UK originally, but grew up there (London) as a kid in the 80's. It was lovely, and the best phase of my life. Loved Wales, too. Beautiful Britain. Was eligible for a British passport, didn't bother, moved to another shithole, and regretted it my entire life. Possibly one of the reasons I ended up here. Consider myself European, not Europunion though. Despise totalitarian regimes, as are most these days, imho(!). Peace.

PS: I was considering of dropping by before I go. Travel memory lane. But maybe it's a better idea to keep my memories as they are.

Me. I'm in the West Country too but also escaped the accent as I grew up in London, my 6 and 4 year old however have not . It's beautiful here

From UK, in Thailand. Makes it better in some ways because I don't have to watch the land of my birth getting taken over by fascists, racists and idiots. But it also makes it worse because my Thai isn't good enough for proper conversation and there's no one better at moaning than us. And I miss a good moan.

I wonder why? I have always been proud to be British, been here all my life. Although its not so much 'Great' Britain these days, too many changes.
