  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I was thinking about this a lot recently. The LE would contact my parents about me CTB, they would tell my immediate and extended family of course. But I don't think my family would know to contact anyone else. They wouldn't have access to my phone and don't know anyone I know personally. Unless I CTB in public and my name was released for whatever reason. My employers might have to contact my next of kin info given if I am not in work and would presumably find out then but it wouldn't go much farther. I'm not really part of any community. So it's strange to think but I don't think many people would realise I was dead, maybe ever. Am I missing something or is this fair to say?

I think that for me personally, it could never matter to me how others were to react when I die, as I simply will not be there at that point, it isn't my concern. Eventually we will all be forgotten about, all life is so meaningless and temporary. After all, our only true purpose as humans is to die.

I've written notes to make sure my friends will know. My family would as well. I left a request that they tell my sports team and the place I volunteer at so that no one is inconvenienced by expecting me to show when I won't. I think how much it gets around is more dependent on the people who will know. Whether they tell people or they feel it's something to hide. There are things you can do to make sure specific people know, but outside of that it's out of our control.

I volunteer too, I think they would not be too inconvenienced as people drop in and out often. There are people I care about deeply who don't have much regard for me and won't find out or wouldn't care too much in any case. I guess it doesn't matter too much and yeah, it's mostly out of our control.

I don't really care, but i cut out my friends and family a long time ago, so i'm more likely to be found out by a bill collector than i am friends and family.
