有没有人可以和我聊聊中国?我真的受不了这种压抑的社会氛围和环境了。
I want to know how people outside of mainland China view China.
Is there anyone who can talk to me about China? I really can't take this oppressive social atmosphere and environment anymore.

I remember how there were some people 4 months or so ago who were from China and really liked it~ :) It's interesting how you speak about it differently from them~ :)

Anyways, I view it as an authoritarian communist dictatorship with large levels of corruption~ granted, everywhere has corruption! xD They're unfortunately able to brainwash most of their citizens through large-scale censorship and through their surveillance state~ >_< They persecute Christians (including by trying to take over the churches) and Uyghurs~ Their factories are practically sweat shops, and many of the things they produce are knock-offs stolen from companies who designed the real plans instead~ >_< The education system must be super stressful too! :(
[Pre-communist] Chinese history and culture are super neat tho~ :)

You're right, many people have been brainwashed, and that's one of the sources of my pain.

my favorite person is chinese, i remember she complained a lot about state thought control, spying, and the censorship. i do not have personal experience being there but i know that people have their legitimate complaints that they're not allowed to voice.

What's heartbreaking is that many people have been brainwashed. I now feel uncomfortable, and in China, I have become an outcast.
I'm planning to apply to a university in Poland and start with a language preparatory course, trying to escape this country through studying abroad. My family should have the financial means to support my studies. But I'm racing against time—I'm almost on the verge of being completely broken by them. I've bought charcoal because I can't be sure if death will come. They have no idea what they're doing. Do you have any advice regarding studying abroad?

Your idea to study abroad sounds really good. I would really advice you to channel all your energy into going abroad and building a life for you there, i.e. also finding a part time job and building a social network in order to be able to stay in Poland or another European Union country after your studies. Unfortunately I can't give you advice about studying in Poland as I have ever only been there for holidays. Maybe also look up what would be the requirements to eventually gain citizenship in Poland. Once you have citizenship of a European Union country, you are allowed to live and work in any country of the European Union and even countries like Switzerland and Norway, that are not part of the European Union, but part of the Schengen agreement become much easier to access. I am writing this as Poland may be a good place for studying, but many of the Northern and Western European Union countries provide better opportunities when it comes to finding well paid work.
Speaking about China, I aboslutely understand that you want to get out of it. I was there 2 times as a tourist. The first time was in 2014 . It was an awkward experience, starting form getting the visa, which required me to show confirmations of hostels I had booked (and later cancelled) for every single night of my stay. Then I was in a train with Chinese passengers, however the Chinese police forced me to move in a compartment where I was by myself for no apparent reason. When I was in some mountainous regions of Sichuan that used to form the old Tibet (but don't belong to the province of Tibet nowadays) there was a super strong military and police presence, which felt really depressing. Also it was obvious that the Tibetan culture had been completely destroyed (I can compare with the Tibetan monasteries I visited in Nepal and Northern India). After all I found the experience so unsettling that I thought I would never come back to China (unless there was a change of government).
However, in 2024 I found a cheap flight to Taiwan going through Beijing. As it turned out, there was no extra charge for a stopover in Beijing and at this point citizens from my country didn't need a visa anymore for short trips to China. So last year I spent 3 days in Beijing. And it felt it had become so much worse. There was no more free internet access in the hostels. Even most VPNs didn't seem to work any more (as another traveller told me, I didn't try them personally). It was really hard to buy tickets for Beijing subway without Chinese ID or any of their special apps, as it seems not a nomal thing in Beijing anymore to pay for anything in cash. It seems they want to track everyone's single move. Not to speak of the fact that I had to show my passport for every sight I visitied.
So even just being a tourist I felt the oppressive atmosphere in China. I can't imagine having to live there. But I think you should really try to get out of the country and see, if that's maybe enough to make you happier and not wishing to ctb anymore. I'd say that a change of circumstances can achieve a lot. Although I have never had to live in a dictatorship, I grew up in a really conservative place and I'd say that moving to a more liberal place has helped a lot to make me feel better over the years.

I live in the U.S. where we have a HORRIBLE orange face clown for a president, just the worst period.

I could care less where anyone is from or company or anything. The one tried and true aspect is and always will be human greed.

does not matter about tariffs, who is in power, anything, it is all about money/power and nothing to do with the average poor soul who is just trying to eke out a living day to day.

Back in the 1960's in school here in the U.S., we were taught "better dead than red", (USSR) and I at the time all the way to today could never get how any of this was about the average person.

I have met folks from almost every spot on this globe in my 50 plus years in the business world, and we are ALL the same, just trying to make a go of it.

I do NOT care about a country anywhere, as far as the government or anything, it is all about the average person, who like me, is just trying to pay bills and live a normal life.

I will say this, I did NOT vote for orange face and NEVER EVER would. He is like a bad food coloring, orange $47, that should be banned, $47 is the number the orange face is in all the Presidents that the U.S. has had.

I LOVE average folks from China, Korea, Russia, Europe, everywhere. We are ALL human and should work together. Yes, everyone has good and bad days, BUT we should help each other out and make it better for everyone period.

Aren't things so bad that the buildings started to deploy suicide Nets around them? Since people were jumping off etc. Also, I think Chinese people work too much. You cannot live to work. If you live like that, your mental health will certainly go downhill. There needs to be balance. And also the government there is just evil in my opinion. The people exist for the government. The government does not exist for the people.

I wish everyone could be as kind as you, and recognize who our true enemy is. Unfortunately, in China, many people have been brainwashed by the media. They lack independent thinking or the ability to view the world critically, and still harbor hostility towards an abstract country or an abstract concept.

Regarding the issue of barbed wire, generally, after someone dies in a certain place, the authorities will deploy barbed wire. What you said next, at least in my view, isn't problematic, but the most terrifying part is that the people around me have become so accustomed to it. Because I can't adapt, I become the anomaly.

Ive never been to china, but i used baidu tiebu when i was kid and use rednote now sometimes, only for reading, never posting. Generally speaking, people there are friendly, really friendly. They call each other family or sister like they genuinely mean it.
But there's one thing that feels off to me. people are kind until you say something that goes against the trend. Then suddenly, they become aggressive, and everyone gangs up on you at once, and they are not your family anymore.

this is just what I've observed online. I don't know what it's like in real life.

best wishes for your dream of studying abroad. i also don't like my life either and want to run away to another country, but i know my biggest problem is myself. i cant escape myself. i hope you can make it and have a happier life.

They have been brainwashed into believing that they are the masters of this country. However, the truth is that all Chinese people are being raised like pigs. On the internet, there are many people who follow the crowd. They have been indoctrinated with patriotic ideologies, so when you say something that goes against the mainstream, they will attack you. It's somewhat like the Cultural Revolution, but limited to the internet and language.

I think it's a pretty authoritarian state. Heavy censorship and the prosecution of Ughyurs is very harrowing.

I think the country itself is beautiful and its metropolitan cities are amazing. There are so many things China does better e.g creation of cities and subsidisation of these.

I think it could really do better if they improve laws around work and minimum wage and labour. They don't deserve to be paid shit.

I don't mind about the creation of counterfeit products. Let them be made. We are being scammed by companies that support genocide anyway.

Heavy on the censorship though, I really dislike the censorship on minorities, BIPOC and lgbtq+.
