i'm trying to choose which SN option to go with. im in south america, so both of these come from your everyday businesses.

the first drugstore is the more trustworthy & recognized store, but they only sell 1kg sn. im unconvinced i could hide 1kg of sn from my family, and preserving it all would be pretty hard as well, as i live in a very humid environment (although, it is winter right now so its mostly dry). im sure their sn is of >97% purity also, which is good enough for me.

the second is a food-focused shop. id never heard of them before, but they seem somewhat recognized at least (good reviews on their storefronts and 2k followers on their social media). they sell both 1kg and 100g sn, but im not too sure about the purity. the backgrounds on most of their products are ai-generated, too, so that makes me feel uncertain. however im sure i can both hide and preserve 100g.

the drugstore sn (1kg) is ~10USD whereas the food shop sn (100g) is ~7USD. the food shop also has a 1kg option, but it costs ~50USD. im not really sure what to do.

advice appreciated. thanks.

Are the products sold at specialty food stores made with SN that's nearly 97% pure?
I understand that the SN used in meat processing has a very low purity.
That's what concerns me.

i wouldn't trust any sn that isn't explicitly 95% or above purity

in accordance with what meowpuppy said

food grade SN products are almost never over more than 6% and I worry, especially with it being AI generated looking that it is just mislabled curing salt instead of pure SN

either way always test your SN but the 1kg option from the first store sounds more legitimate

thx for the advice - I ended up buying the 1kg one today! i tried contacting the food grade SN provider to no avail, so, yeah, didn't have much of a choice in the end

I'm not able to do anything but a blood test in order to check it, so I'm still anxious about it, but we'll see how it goes. :")
