Discussion Which shows/ movies do you regularly rewatch.

Tarkovsky's Mirror — Lars von Trier said he had watched it 15 times. And I get him. Every time I remember this movie, I think, "What the fuck was even in that movie? I don't remember anything." So I watch it again, hate it, and then forget it all over again.

Wait, I remember you once said that you can't stand Tarkovsky. But it seems like I only just now understood in what sense, ahahah. Do you have any favourite Lars von Trier movies?

Yeah, that's true, I did say that. Well, I really don't like him because I'm into action movies. And he made pretentious pseudo-intellectual movies.
I mean, cinema is literally called "moving pictures" — it's supposed to move, not be a nearly static shot of a field or whatever. We have photography and paintings for that.

His worst movie is Solaris. Tarkovsky spent like 30 minutes filming some dude reading a report off a piece of paper and... Fuuuck…I forgot what happened after that… Other than the boobs at the end, I don't remember anything (ㆆ_ㆆ)

Fuuuck… did I really sit through the whole thing? I completely forgot what happened after that...

And his movies were always treated as if they had these incredibly deep meanings. Even though they're all, umm… boring in that regard, and maybe even obvious if you think about them for a bit. If only I could actually remember any of them (╥﹏╥)

Okay I'm rambling I should probably stop.

Do you have any favourite Lars von Trier movies?

I'm basic, but The House That Jack Built. Damn, I've seen it like four times. You actually reminded me of it.
Breaking the Waves and Dogville aren't bad, but they're kind of drawn out

I almost never watch new shows, so my biggest rewatches are Hells Kitchen, Bob's Burgers, Malcolm in the Middle, and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, all shows I grew up with :)

I loved Solaris but have to admit I rarely examine movies critically; I just sat there and vibed with it after being asked to play the synthesizer for a concept album that was based on Solaris. What a random memory to unlock.

One of my favourite directors, my heart breaks every time someone calls him pretentious. Poor guy, called elitist and inaccessible by the communists during his life, and called a pseudo-intellectual by action movie fans after his death.

But to be honest, Andrei Rublev can be called an action movie too. It's got a huge battle scene and even a People's Artist, Yuriy Nikulin

Honestly I love a good old King of the Hill or Bob's Burgers episode. They're so comforting to me. And if I want to go back even farther I love to watch Little Bear sometimes. It was my favorite show as a kid and it has such a warm and domestic vibe to it. I still own all my VHS tapes of it. (:

Idk why, but Harry Potter just seems so seasonal to me, I really like it. I also played Hogwarts Legacy, it's not perfect, but it's so atmospheric, I recommend it.
When you watch GOT, do you include the final season?

Yes, I do include the final season of GOT. I'm guessing then- you aren't a fan of how it ended? I actually thought the endings for all the characters made sense. While the last episodes aren't as exciting to watch, I suppose I just see that as inevitable in a way- as all the stories end. Did you have a prefered ending?

Do you like House of the Dragon? I was initially so excited when it came out. I just couldn't get into it quite the same way though. Maybe my expectations were too high. I haven't seen the new season yet though.

Yeah I thought it didn't make sense how it ended. All the build up for Bran to end up on the throne. Also, all the plotholes, like Dany forgetting abt the iron fleet or the Unsullied and Dothraki basically just accepting her death and leaving, even though they basically worshiped her as a god. Yeah and her becoming the mad queen would've made sense, if it wasn't so rushed.
But I'm glad you like the ending and visually it's still amazing tbh.
I like HOTD so far, sure it's not perfect and they could've followed the books more in some instances, but I think overall it's very well made

The only show I will regularly rewatch on my own in its entirety is Wentworth (AUS series).

Others I'll rewatch through watching Youtube reactors (Pluribus, Hannibal, Dark, From).

Queen of the Damned (2002)- It's such an edgelord, butchered take on the original books, but I find it immensely fun-bad, and all the actors are pretty. So, I rewatch it every year lol
