I rewatch all the Harry Potter movies every year, but only in winter or in autumn, it just feels wrong in summer. Before the 8th season of GOT came out, I also used to rewatch it all the time, but they ruined it😭. I have recently watched Everwood and it reminded me so much of my 2000s childhood that I'll prob rewatch it a bunch of times, can recommend (it's on Netflix)

The Evil Within 2017. For some reason, whenever I'm going through a bad period in my life, this movie always comes back to me

Tarkovsky's Mirror — Lars von Trier said he had watched it 15 times. And I get him. Every time I remember this movie, I think, "What the fuck was even in that movie? I don't remember anything." So I watch it again, hate it, and then forget it all over again.

And the first and second Predator movies every now and then

That's pretty cool. I don't know much abt wrestling, so what do you like abt old professional wrestling compared to its modern counterpart?

Part of my preference for older wrestling stems from its (sometimes) more subdued, athletic presentation and the intensity with which the business protected kayfabe, that is the illusion of professional wrestling being a conventional combat sport and not a cooperative, pre-determined performance.

As time marched forward, and the WWE achieved near-monopoly status, the transformation of professional wrestling into "sports entertainment" was finalized, and the balance between generating magic and generating revenue became too skewed in favor of the latter for my tastes (while fully acknowledging that the roots of the industry were anchored in "rigging" fights on the carnival circuit to maximize earnings).

To put it more succinctly, I don't enjoy tuning into Monday Night Raw on Netflix and watching the performers run through a series of increasingly inorganic, dangerous spots in a ring that's covered turnbuckle to canvas in Snickers and Slim Jim logos. It's soulless.

Yeah I get that, usually things, whatever they may be, loose their soul, when they become too commercialised. I'm not sure if I remember correctly, but I think Logan Paul is now in the WWE and I found that to be very off putting.
I actually had a friend when I was a kid who loved the WWE and collected action figures of wrestlers, we even went to a match once, was pretty rad

First and foremost: The Office! At this point I wouldn't be surprised if I had rewatched [the first five seasons] over 100 times.

But also
- Bojack Horseman
- Arrested Development
- Community
- Parks and Recreation

We have so many in common! The Office is number one for me, followed by Community and Parks and Recreation. I only saw Bojack Horseman once but I've been meaning to rewatch it for a while now.

However, in the last year and a half, my depression, anhedonia and hatred of my life have gotten so bad that I can barely sit through one episode of anything. I can barely enjoy anything anymore. When I have that rare desire to watch something, it is usually something new. I need novelty for that tiny dopamine boost it gives me. The only one from your list that I haven't seen is Arrested Development.

What about LotR (since your nickname is Gollum)? I used to be obsessed with LotR. One of my favorite rituals in high school for a while was that almost every day right after school before my mom came home from work I played the Fellowship EE from that point in the movie where they leave Rivendell.

Movies: The Big Lebowski, Palm Springs
Books: The Heavenly Table and Knockemstiff by Donald Ray Pollock, Train Dreams by Dennis Johnson

Sorry to hear about your anhedonia; it's tough to have such a basic source of entertainment and pleasure gone from your life. I'm kind of the opposite, I used to watch new TV shows and movies, but ever since the depression hit--many years ago now--I stopped altogether. Now I only rewatch these 5 shows, over and over and over. It's one of the only things that gives me some modicum of comfort.

I adore LOTR, and I do rewatch it every so often, but in my depression I can't help but recoil from its themes of hope and goodness. My life's journey unfortunately most resembles Gollum's, hence the username; he is now the character I identify most with.

Anyway, thanks for the reply; if you do get the itch to watch something new, I'd definitely recommend Arrested Development!

I work from home and do long hours but, I pretty much always have something on in the background. I often have series I'm familiar with- seeing as they provide enough distraction without completely breaking my concentration.

I'll run through the series 'Game of Thrones' at least once a year. I'm also a Harry Potter fan. I love it that you reserve it for specific times of the year OP. I'll also usually run through Westworld and the Interview with a Vampire series has recently been added to my re-watch list.

I also like a lot of UK crime drama. Inspector Morse, Inspector Lynley, Midsomer Murders.

I like documentaries too. I've had many of them on multiple times. Plus, familiar films too.

I think Cassandra will be my next rewatch.

Idk why, but Harry Potter just seems so seasonal to me, I really like it. I also played Hogwarts Legacy, it's not perfect, but it's so atmospheric, I recommend it.
When you watch GOT, do you include the final season?
I will check that out. I haven't watched it yet. I am happy with my hbo+hulu+disney bundle.
it's very good imo and in contrast to other shows it has an ending that makes sense
