Exactly what I don't want.

I may have depression.

But I'l take anything but conformity.

Depression and vulnerability have robbed me of a "normal life" too. I used to feel bad that I'm not like most people--just the kind of people you've mentioned. Alarm set for an hour before the sun rises while they're still very sleepy. Checking email and work SMS's before they've brushed their teeth. Rush-rush-rush to the office where they're forced to sit in a cubicle... for most of the waking day. Dealing with angry consumers, arrogant and demeaning bosses, back-biting colleagues. And then the mad rush back home, once the sun is down, to spend a few hours cleaning house, washing clothes... doing other personal chores so they can get up and do the same thing all over again until they're so old and frail they're near death anyway.

I had a convo today with someone who said THAT's how life's supposed to be. ??? No frickin' thank you.

Anyway, what makes a person boring it's their personality not their tastes or aspirations.

I feel sorry for the working people, or people who feel that they have to achieve something to be worthy. We're pack animals and we look at others to see what behavior is considered normal by our society. Right now it's the officey, workaholic, overachiever life. But a thousand years ago, zero people lived like this. Our days were filled with intense physical labor and much less comfort. But... there was a lot more variety day to day. Yet I imagine people were bored a lot... inventing stories and songs and stuff.

It hurts my head to think that people can't tell how far astray we've come as a species. Granted, I enjoy that we've cured tuberculosis.

I still want to raise a goat.

It always makes me think back to Daisy in The Great Gatsby saying "I hope she'll be a fool—that's the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool."
Would I love to be of conformity? Normal and boring of little substance? A head happy as light as air? Maybe I would be happier that way, little thought involved.

Someone who works 9-5 because society has already been set up that way by conservatives who are long since dead; someone who doesn't question how they might be a modern slave to capitalism.

You can question it and still work because you have to eat. You can question how the world works right now and still need money for almost everything. People are just trying to survive. My point is that why that makes you boring. You can be the most alternative person in the world or being the most unique and special human and still been boring and simple without questioning anything. Wanting a nice place to live in peace or seeing a living being that is not a human has no relation to being boring.
