I've been having severe lack of sleep that's even worse than usual in recent month, but my husband keeps taking the cats to where there's sticker bushes which then get to spread random things in bed that makes it hard to sleep.

And he's still doing it even when I'm sick. Then he does this remote controlled automated cat food with no warning at 5 am, eventhough we've had problems with cats jumping on me whenever that's used.

I've been telling him that lack of sleep has been one of the main driver for my SI, affecting my work badly (which will make my SI worse if I get laid off), making it hard for me to do anything outside of work, and probably contributed to destroying my immune system and getting me sick this time.

Just so frustrating. We argued about the sticker bush last night, then hours later at 5 am he did the automated cat feeder thing. I needed my sleep to recover from being sick and coughing... But he really don't care even if he claim he's sorry or whatever.

Nothing ever changes and I'm just being dragged along to suffer.

I'm glad I have my SN. I can't keep being strung along with him actively hurting me. Things like this happens daily or weekly. I really need to stop giving him chances next time this happen again. I'm so tired. I should maybe prepare a to go bag or something...

My wife treats me like this too. I'm so sorry. I will never understand why someone would treat their spouse like that. It pushes me to the edge too.

My boyfriend makes me feel crazy with the way I bring up issues to him and he changes for maybe one day, then goes right back to the same. It makes me feel like I'm living groundhog day every day of my life. I don't talk to him about issues anymore. Waste of breath and he'll never change.

That's crazy. Does he have to feed the cats at 4:30 or 5:00 AM? Can't it be a bit later? 8:00 AM. Or after you get up. Also, why are you sleeping poorly? Have you considered seeing a sleep specialist? I was sleeping very poorly and then I saw a sleep specialist, got diagnosed with sleep apnea and now I'm using a CPAP machine which has greatly improved my sleep. Can you ask your husband if you snore?

Every good day can only start with good sleep, unfortunately. Poor sleep will only cause stress and suffering.

I'm sorry you're going through this. People underestimate our difficulties in simple things. Cats are something very precious in our lives, but they can't be in our sleeping room. When this happens, our quality of life is severely reduced. You run the risk of getting sick, your sleep is disturbed, and there's little opportunity for romance.

I have severe sleep problems. Some days I only get two hours of sleep, but as a mental health measure, I've adopted the use of earplugs while I sleep. Noises and sounds don't bother me anymore. It's one less thing to deal with. These earplugs are very cheap. I recommend trying them.

Contemplating silence is often a difficult but necessary decision. Sometimes I talk to my wife and her behavior changes for three days or even a week, but this is a mistake I make; it is much more difficult to deal with life by relying on external factors.

I hope you feel better as time goes by 🤞🏻

I think one of the other cats was bothering him so he did it to make them stop doing that, but he didnt bother ensuring that no cats will jump at me and wake me up... So frustrating when we just literally argued about him making it hard for me to sleep. :/

Good idea. Those might be options. I do use eye covers but not the ear plugs, but I do have some.

He says I don't snore. I plan to stop with one of my meds soon that might help too. I think I also just need to use my sleep aid once in a while. I just wish he stop doing these ridiculous things to wake me up though.

How about leaving the cats outside the bedroom? I know a YouTuber who used to sleep with them in the room but then kept the cats outside her bedroom since they disturbed her sleep. In fact, she put a towel against the door because the cats were scratching away at the door trying to get in.

But sleep is more important. Poor sleep is extremely bad for your mental and physical health.

That'd be a good option to consider. They do like to scratch the door so that towel thing seem to make sense.
