Slavic (but living elsewhere, not in Europe), and it doesn't matter when it comes to ctb. I once hated my heritage when I was a kid and refused to speak my immigrant parents' native language but I would have hated anything back then. Now I'm indifferent to it and have the fluency of a 4 year old in their language.

I'm not necessarily surprised by the poll results but it had an effect to see the spike. Anyways, I'm sure that some people receive discrimination but I don't think it's about "genes" but about social aspects in those cases. If and when I'll die I'll simply be a statistic that no one will care about, it doesn't have any impact on me. I still feel sorry for people who have a life tougher than mine.

Mostly black. Now thinking about it, I probably don't relate to anyone irl because of the people irl expecting me to fulfil a certain archetype, which I eventually faked myself into at 16 without going ghetto. It been screwing with my already fucked mental state and kind of caused me to develop a habit to be unable to tell genuinely nice people Id wanna be friends with about my life or if anything is wrong.
One funny thing I noticed is how every other black dude I've talked to on here also seems to love self-degrading jokes about our race, so maybe that's a universal trait for people who find it hard to relate to their race lol.

Hispanic/Latino here. I'm very much not a privileged individual and my situation is only getting worse. I do think it influences my feelings towards CTB. Another factor is many people here think mental health issues are a myth of some kind, some excuse the younger generations have come up with to justify being weak. Therapy isn't viewed as a need but more like a bad use for your money

🤔

Can I ask what you hate about it? Is it the way you're treated, or…?

My appearance and having to constantly deal with racism and I can't do anything about it.

I'm mixed and it's definitely one of the reasons I want to CTB. I don't fit in anywhere, I don't fit anybody's beauty standards, and I always have to worry about being hate-crimed where I live. My life would definitely be a little more worth living if I weren't mixed.

Also Asian here. I feel like it's also hell for us because mental health is not seen as a normalized thing in our culture.
Apologies, my brain is not working well this evening and rather slow, which is normal when I'm going through a severe depressive episode so this may not make 100% sense but I want to say that, that has got to be so incredibly difficult, as if what we're dealing with isn't difficult enough but then to have such extreme shame and stigma surrounding it ,beyond what is already present. I can't fathom. I grew up in a family where my father And TWO brothers CTB, very normalized, which is absolutely insane but to grow up in a situation where it is mocked would be so difficult.

I'm Asian but I was adopted and lived in the US my entire life so I'm not sure what reasons could be related to my mental health except maybe it just ran in my biological family but unfortunately I have no way of knowing
