Louis Rossman says (in a general YT video) there may be cheaper, 3rd party batteries, tho an independent repair store probably knows sources... tho I prefer power banks coz they are cheaper yet quite useful.

Can a power bank charge a 7 year old mac? I don't plan to sink any money into this at all; it was cheap af second hand and there's a problem with the screen. already lost money fixing the trackpad when shippers smashed it :/

A large one probably can, search for laptop / mac power banks, the good part about them is they can charge different devices too so it isn't locked into the specific mac.

55% (laptop, sasu browsing, plus terminal 2048 game... which doesn't use much battery)
55% (mobile, flight mode)

the battery actually lasts a good while. if im just browsing no media, it last at least half the day. honestly i dont think it needs service at all and the message is bs

ahhh yep, the "battery may be deteriorated" message on my phone is also too conservative... I think it triggers when the detected capacity decreased to 80% of its original lifespan. When the Dell capacity (of original battery) decreased to 50% of original lifespan, windows 7 told me "consider replacing your battery, the system may shut down unexpectedly".

46% laptop (finding good chemistry deals but 25kg is wayyyy too much, I'd literally need a few grams of the chemicals... and I probably could find already existing data instead)
55% mobile (now to bring it out of flight mode, shut down laptop, and head home... cya)
