Jumping and hanging both seem nightmarish to me for the same core reason: if I fail, I could end up a vegetable. Ultimately, I went with hanging mainly because flailing around due to my survival instinct seems terrifying. And plus, I don't like the idea of suffocation. Jumping could be okay if I closed my eyes and took something to calm me down, though.

Two categories I would never try are
1) Methods with an extremely low chance of success, like overdosing on pills, SN or cutting the wrists. Statistically, it's pretty much guaranteed you survive those, so not only are you not dead, but you also have to deal with the fallout of a suicide attempt, like the family drama, being put in a mental hospital against your will, possible health effects, etc.
2) Methods that are unneccesarily slow and painful like burning alive, drowning, (again) SN, or randomly stabbing yourself. Pretty self-explanatory. Some amount of pain is bearable but I see absolutely no reason to further torture myself.
SN is unreliable and painful to you? Can you explain how?

Surprised drowning isn't on that list. For sure, that would be the one I couldn't do.

Jumping, Soffocation, Cutting, if I had the courage to use any of these three, I would probably have the courage to live a normal life.

gun, jumping, drowning (have attempted it before but will never try again). i would never cut myself with the intent of purposely bleeding to death, however i do cut and do not do it cautiously. i don't care if i cut too deep or if it gets infected, but that's more of a passive suicide than a method

there are no statistics that I am aware of as far as SN success rates. there are many failures on this site (myself included, however i only survived because i was found) but i'm not sure there are any actual studies on failures vs successes

It's drowning. I would much rather burn myself to crisp than drown.
Yea, anything where I'm going to feel my lungs starving of any and all oxygen is a big "fuck no" from me.
I already struggle to breathe as it is.

I would never even think about cutting, but I also can't believe how common hanging is. That seems so awful to me.

The only ones I've ever considered: jumping, some sort of chemical suffocation, and my current weapon of choice: firearms.

self-immolation. it sounds absolutely fucking brutal, i can't imagine the agony. plus the injuries you'd have to live with if you somehow survived would be horrifically unbearable.

The absolute nevers for me are the ineffective cry for help ones, specifically, overdose on OTC meds or slashing wrists

Burning and guns.
I would have had hanging and jumping on this list but recently iv decided I actually wouldn't mind going out using one of those methods.
