To be fair Mexican food is really good...and Scottish food is...well things like haggis. It's not as if Mexican haggis could be WORSE.
Agreed. Mexico would find a way to make the haggiest haggis. What is Haggis if not a scottish tamale?

I could start a megathread on this if any members require more information, and perhaps ask for it to be included in the resources.
I'm not sure this forum could stomach such a thread.

Cranachan.
Ingredients
2 tbsp medium oatmeal
300g fresh raspberries
a little caster sugar
350ml double cream(we used Jersey double cream)
2 tbsp heather honey
2-3 tbsp whisky, to taste
Method

  1. To toast the oatmeal, spread it out on a baking sheet and grill until it smells rich and nutty. It will not darken quickly, so use your sense of smell to tell you when it is nutty enough. Cool the oatmeal. cranachan recipe 5
  1. Make a raspberry purée by crushing half the fruit and sieving. Sweeten this to taste with a little caster sugar. Whisk the double cream until just set, and stir in the honey and whisky, trying not to over-whip the cream. Taste the mix and add more of either if you feel the need.

  2. Stir in the oatmeal and whisk lightly until the mixture is just firm. Alternate layers of the cream with the remaining whole raspberries and purée in 4 serving dishes. Allow to chill slightly before eating.

Some good looking cheese though. One thing Britain does right is Cheddar...unless you find imported it's crap nearly everywhere else and American versions are horrible yellow monstrosities.

American processed cheese is quite "good" in certain applications but certainly monstrous on its own!

We actually have amazing cheddar cheeses here, including Cabot from VT, which is available aged or young. And Wisconsin cheeses. And lots of artisan producers. We are catching on slowly but surely.

at this point in foodie culture, it's like Rule 34 became also true for all food fusion nightmares. Well done.

can't make an authentic Philly Cheesesteak without Cheeze Whiz. I've seen footage, they have buckets of that stuff in their roach coaches.

I grew up in Philly. Always had provolone cheese on mine, no "whizz" ever, but yeah it's popular on cheesesteaks..,

So my H just arrived, I'm sure it's the real thing so I won't be testing it. It even has the method included on it, I'll be using the second one as I don't have access to a saucepan.
It's almost 400grams and it says there's enough for four doses. I'm just going to take the whole lot as I don't want to risk having the munchies afterwards. If I do get the munchies I've got 600grams of peanuts as my backup.

That does look promising, who's your supplier? And how much do they charge? Could I substitute something else for the peanuts since I don't have any, I've got a tub of quality streets if that's any good

I got this one from a place called Spar, it was just over 2 quid! I'm sure it's available for less from other suppliers.
I wouldn't recommend the full tub of quality street as it could lead to headaches and weight gain.

I'll see if Asda have any, how do I know my H is legit though? I might have a few purple ones and hope for the best anyways, one or two can't hurt :)

At the end of the year/start of the new year the newly increased (mandatory) insurance has to be paid as usual. That means stretching rations. I'm too paranoid to go to food banks for the homeless as I have a place to live and can't deal with hundreds of people in a closed space anyway.

Oh, believe me, I agree it's way better without some dude Whiz'zing all over it. "authentic" rarely means "best."
White melty cheeses are the best on it, yes.

I don't see an H-enema methodology, but I don't know how that much volume could be absorbed otherwise.
