Well I don't know if it falls entirely down to habits in my case but I had a few. One was a desire for reassurance since I'm an OCD sufferer. Another was the internet and staying up late and then also lying in late the next morning. Other than that negligent time management, ignoring family relationships and waiting around for others to fix my problems, avoiding discomfort etc. And I was a miserable bastard who always complained but never got around to doing anything about it.
