What phrases really piss you off?

"suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem" this one pisses me off the most. people automatically assuming that my problems are temporary make me feel like im not being treated seriously

"god loves you" if he loved me then he wouldnt force me to go through so much pain

"youre still here for a reason" to people who survived their suicide attempt. i dont care what my purpose on this world is, ive been through enough and i want to leave. again similar to the god one if the universe needs me or whatever then it probably shouldnt force so much suffering on me

"suicide is never the answer" its just really ignorant. not everyone can or wants to get better. what about people with terminal illnesses, is suicide not the answer for them? are they supposed to keep on living and have to spend their last months in agony because suicide is never the right choice? i apply this to chronic mental illnesses too but people dont treat mental health issues seriously and think theyre all curable

The first (of many) annoying phrases from my psychologist as a child was definitely "It won't always be like this." Now I'm almost 23 and it's definitely still like this. And for some honorable mentions: "There's always going to be highs and lows" "It's a permanent solution to a temporary problem" "Suicide is selfish" "Stay strong for us" etc. etc. the list goes on.

"How are you?" - most of the times I'm not good, and it irks me to say I'm fine when I'm not. It's also such a meaningless question

Oh, and I forgot my personal "favorite": when you google SaSu, or anything with the word "suicide", the first thing that pops up is a phone number under the line "Help is available".
What kind of help? Are they gonna wave a magic wand and make my problems disappear? my circumstances change? some kind of pill that takes away my emotional pain? or maybe give me Nembutal? coz if it is none of these, no, help is not available.

"You have capacity, you know what you're doing, therefore we can't help you."

This is someone (me) who's had 26 sections 2, countless 136s by police, and am classed as extremely high risk. Yet, because I have "capacity" they won't help me.

I just hope the coroner does a full investigation into the failings.

Seriously, EUPD/BPD is the most evil, stigmatised, demonised diagnosis one can be afflicted with.

All the other fake inspiration quotes just make me feel sad because it makes it glaringly obvious that life is so despressing. I've been on the other side, the person who had to comfort the other, and it's hard. It's really hard. Deep down you don't know if it "gets better". It could get worse. All you know is that you love the person and you don't want to lose them.

On Irish radio, there was recently a discussion regarding depression and suicide. The old adage of "permanent solution to a temporary problem" was stated more than one. Someone, however, texted in that to tell the interviewee that this trite statement is uttered by people who have never experienced the depths of depression that leads someone to the point of self-deletion. I credit the host for reading the message, and I hope that many consider that not everyone sees their problem as "temporary".

Yet when I'm close to death, following yet another overdose, they want to section me, to cover their backs.
