My dad used to be very abusive towards me (verbally.) He had anger issues at the time and couldn't think clearly because of it and that is the reason why he was terrible to me. He is taking medicine now and heres the things he is saying to me now (he expects me to believe him after all he has said to me): "People have it worse than you, you are lucky.", "Don't worry about it, I will always be on your side, no matter what.", "I hate seeing you like this" (i doubt he truly cares about my emotions and only says this to make me stop being a burden to everyone.) and heres something about me, i believe i was born the wrong gender and this fuels my suicidal ideation, he knows this (not that im suicidal, of course, or i wouldn't be on this forum) but despite this he always says, without understanding how i truly feel: "Being a woman is the best thing that can happen to you. If I could choose, I would be a woman." Yes, maybe being a woman is better than being a man but thats only his opinion, not mine. I completely disagree with him.For me, a few of examples:
"There are people worse off."
"Just pick yourself up."
"Life is beautiful."
I could easily knock someone out for quoting any of the above.
What phrases really piss you off?
