Help what knot should you use for a somewhat flat cuboid anchor point?

I'm gonna use a rail, so I practiced a snuggle hitch on my stairs rail but noticed the snuggle hitch doesn't hold as strong as it does on cylindrical objects, what type of knot should I use?
