What is your ideal afterlife?

For a while there, I was watching a lot of NDE videos on Youtube. They are so varied that the skeptic in me says that they are just a dying brain trying to calm us down but that aside.... What do you think the afterlife is? Heaven, Hell, A holodeck like experience, reincarnation, oblivion with no awareness?

I really hope that there's just straight nothingness, honestly. I like the idea of reincarnation, but there's just so many things in this universe that rolling exactly what I'd want to reincarnate into is impossible lol. I don't really think about the afterlife, though, because it kinda scares me and I don't need that fear.
I get transformed in a tower-dopamine machine for my boyfriend, God and my friends while simaltenously satisfying myself. All tormentors get banned from the server.

I hope it's just nothingness, non-existence honestly. But I've definitely heard a lot of stories from seemingly trustworthy individuals who speak about supernatural experiences they've had in great detail of things they've witnessed that is not poltergeist activity or ghost stories like what Nuke Top 5 tells about; hospice nurses who've seen full flesh and blood angels appear in the room within a few feet of them and hanging out for a few minutes, there's stories of people who've seen heaven and say it's more realistic than life here inside of a body, they can see colors the human eye can't see like ultraviolet - but then again I see inhuman things in my dreams at night like colors that don't exist with the human eye. It could still mean absolutely next to fucking nothing. As far as I'm aware, I'm still an agnostic atheist as there is no full proof of any of this supernatural stuff.

It is my belief that NDEs are so varied because in the afterlife you immediately create your environment. In other words, consciousness is what creates reality.
This was one of the original purposes of religion - to provide a framework or roadmap that people could follow. This would explain why NDE Christians see Jesus, Catholics see the pearly gates, people who believe in nothing find themselves in a void, and people who don't believe in religion have experiences with no religious imagery. These are all temporary illusions, but no more of an illusion than every day life.
We simply aren't aware that we are all co-creating this world with the creative power of our consciousness. We have purposely tricked ourselves in to forgetting about this so as not to cheapen the experience. One you die, or are no longer focused in this "game", your beliefs immediately become your environment until you realize that it is in fact the creative power of consciousness.
The words I am typing are just symbols representing the information I'm trying to convey. In the same way, your environment and the physical objects in it are just symbols for your thoughts and emotions,
Notice how a lot of NDEs talk about how trivial life seems, or how they were staring at their body with complete emotional detachment? I believe that lends further to the idea that life is just a big game that we have created. People ask why they would put themselves in such horribly suffering lives, and the answers I've found is that these people are more akin to extreme athletes. They purposely chose a tumultuous existence because it represented an accelerated learning opportunity.
If you are interested in NDEs, I suggest you read some of the books on it. The idea that they are just hallucinations has been pretty much settled that they are not. People who are clinically dead report exact conversations, doctor techniques, etc., that were happening during the time they were dead - no electrical activity in the brain.

Yeah, so do only people choose their existence? What about animals? Are the souls the same? Why would a Giselle choose to be born into the hungry jaws of a lion. It doesn't seem that much experience can be gained from that. These questions, all of course rhetorical. I know no one can really answer them with any certainty.
In some parts of the world, and for many many years, most children didn't make it to 5. I struggle to rationalize the point of that existence. Maybe the soul learns worlds of information by the second, regardless of the experience. But now I'm speculating. Speculating that a soul even exists. I dare say it would be much easier to argue the opposite.
Before we can say any of our main religions are true, we would logically, I think, have to prove that a soul exists. We would have our work cut out for us.

Imagine consciousness as an artist who's passionate about exploring every possible medium, every technique, every way of creating. Physical incarnation is just one incredibly rich medium for that creative expression.
Your essential self chose this particular set of circumstances because they offered optimal opportunities for desired growth. Your job isn't to remain trapped by circumstances, but to extract the intended learning and move forward with greater wisdom and compassion. We are eternal beings temporarily focused in physical reality.
I believe that everyone is on their own journey in life, and the lessons you are meant to learn from your troubles is up to you to figure out. I believe you have those answers, it's just that in the West we are taught to ignore our instincts and gut feelings, as this is what inner wisdom is usually labeled as.
I realize that what I am saying sounds crazy to a lot of people, and I don't expect anyone else to buy it. It is just what I believe.
And before you say "well that's easy for you to say", believe me, I have been through some horrible things. Maybe I'm just tricking myself by believing these things but in all honesty, it doesn't matter. Believing what I said above has changed me for the better and that's all that matters. Focusing on the negative things that have happened to me did nothing but make things worse. And I did that for a long time.
Don't get me wrong, I still want to ctb, but that's more because I'm in a irreversible position.
I'm sorry you had to go through those things - I don't mean to make light of them, or to be dismissive. If I came across as that way it was not my intention and to properly answer you would probably take a much longer explanation than anyone would care to read.
I love NDEs and I think about how I want the afterlife to be all the time. I just know I want it to be an easy, peaceful place with no bad stuff and everyone just chilling and having a good time.
I'm very certain in my belief that an afterlife exists. And that it's "good". I'm not religious per se, but if I'd use a common term I guess I could say "heaven". No, there is no proof (and that is also by design I believe) but the mountain of evidence simply rather points to *something* existing rather than nothing (cause we have zero evidence that there would be nothing).
When I was younger I was more fearful of what's might be. But over the years, reading and listening to talks of "experiencers" and other evidence, I've come to the belief that it will be *mostly* good. But also like @hell toupee (ironic user name btw lol!!!) I believe that we make our own reality there… (that's why some hellish experiences exist, at least temporarily). I also agree that believing there is only good awaiting us after death has zero negative effects (if it's not true and it's simply nothingness, I can't be disappointed eh?) but it helps give me comfort and feel more love for the universe. So I only see positives to believing there is only good awaiting us.
No joke, I want my own private Minecraft world. Not necessarily voxels, but just a peaceful world where I'm free to create, build, and explore to my heart's content. Without all the worldly responsibilities.

I really believe in a after life as I would like to met my boyfriend and mom there because they already passed I hope it's just like real life but with no bad emotions and everything is okay and great

Ideally, a world of endless pleasure. I'd like to be able to eat lots of tasty things for free without getting fat. There would also be lots of pleasant sounds coming from an invisible speaker somewhere and everything would have soft and fluffy textures. As for loneliness, I'd like a blanket which fills my body with oxytocin whenever I hug it... or maybe I'll just summon a lover (man or woman, maybe both at the same time, I'm not picky) out of thin air - I'll see which option works best once I've hanged myself. Naturally, my brain would have to be re-wired so that I don't become desensitised to all of the happy chemicals. I'd also like my afterlife body to be slim (while still keeping the fat in the places I actually like it being) with a symmetrical face and eternal youth because I might as well have it if I'm going to have everything else. Then again, are these just the vapid concerns of a mammal whose mortal flesh suit is designed to seek out food and sex?
If the above can't happen then I'll just take the void like everybody else. Thanks.
I'm a hard materialist. Not out of choice but out of evidence and gut feeling. I don't consider the issue anymore complex than I do the fact that my old phone is no longer able to run Chrome because it's been physically destroyed.
What is worth even 10 minutes of the constant worst pain every second? To me nothing is worth even one second of the worst pain. In life there exists the possibility of the worst pain every second for 60 years . As if the "fun" meaningless garbage like watching a clickbait video or eating food is worth that the most extreme torture every second for 60 years
Permanent Non-existence is the only guarantee of never suffering so badly the suffering is a trillion times worse than one can imagine.
Eternal Non-existence is never any pain ,suffering, problems, diseases, bad memories. In contrast life and existence is filled with those horrible things and always the possibility of unending constant extreme torture. Non-existence forever is the only perfection the only state with zero pain or suffering or problems or bad memories
1 micro-second after my brain dies its Non-existence forever after that for me
I Agree. All life descended from a single cell. I and a human is that cell a machine, chemical reactions which can't have a soul or afterlife nor reincarnation
The brain is just billions of these cells a biological computer that creates a model of a self but only when we are conscious of that self
since many machines like the ribosome and processes like dna atp genetic code cell membrane are identical in a cell that lived 4 billion years ago and in a bacteria , amoeba, fly brain cell, and a human brain cell. all this is incontrovertible evidence that all these organisms descended from that cell 4 billion years ago
My ideal afterlife would be reincarnation. I am quite sad about some of the things that I won't remember if I'm reincarnated, given that if such a thing exists, then logically I have already reincarnated into this life from a previous one and I remember nothing of it, but I'm willing to give up most things about this life in exchange for a better one. I am inherently terrified of the concepts of forever or infinity, so eternal life in heaven doesn't really appeal to me, nor does eternal nothingness.
If I could, I wish I could retain just some memories, enough to have some of the things I liked about this life in the next one. But otherwise I'd want to be reincarnated in completely different circumstances than what I was handed here, nor do I want to keep most of my memories from this life, as I feel that would just be bringing the "me" of now into some other body, and the whole point is I want to get away from the "me" of now and live a better life. Retaining all my memories means retaining the mental state that developed as a result of my life and memories.
My ideal afterlife would be what they say in NDE stories : beautiful landscapes, beautiful music, peace, love and being able to discover the whole universe. That would be great
I believe it will be nothing. True void. And I really would hate for it to be anything else. Why would I want to experience anything more than void after this?
