Breaking Bad, Oz and Curb.

Honorable mentions: The Wire, What We Do In The Shadows, Better Call Saul.
I really liked the film WWDITS, is the series very good in comparison, is it quite different?

How did you feel about the consecutive seasons of TD? I thought the first season was good (one of my sibling's favorites also), skipped the second season because I could already tell I wasn't going to appreciate it, and I did get into the third season but never finished it because it failed to continually hold my attention.
For me best series = The Leftovers (HBO)

Best mini-series = Maniac (Netflix)

Best comedy = Arrested Development (Fox/Netflix)
The Leftovers is as close to perfection as it gets for me, and the score and choice of music is just, as they say, *chef's kiss* lol. I appreciated it so much more upon rewatching it with my mother, who also really loved it. (One of the few things I can manage to do with her that doesn't arise in turmoil, but even that is coming to an end)

Maniac was so different, I didn't know what to think of it, I liked it and was annoyed by it at the same time. I still remember that alien gag and laugh, and while I am not the biggest fan of Emma Stone, she was good..though Jonah Hill's performance was the most memorable to me. I don't think I even made the connection that Kevin (Justin Theroux) from The Leftovers was part of the cast, at the time, but I remember his character also, everyone performed quite well, despite the insanity of some of the antics.
I can't really watch shows anymore, was able to binge-watch Naruto before my meds truly wore off (or did they..?). Not sure if I could watch it now, tbh.
I know what you mean, it's very difficult for anything to hold my attention and focus these days, the longer the suffering goes on, the harder it is to function, never mind distract myself...even passive distractions are becoming tiresome and sometimes somewhat triggering. If I wasn't so miserable, I probably also wouldn't be as picky with what I spend my viewing energy on (in one way, that's a good thing, but it also reduces the pool of diversions from my waking nightmare, limiting the horizons).

It's almost the same. The set up is the same, the comedic style is the same. The only major difference is the cast.

It's probably not quite as good as the movie. But if you liked the movie, I don't see any reason why you wouldn't like the series. Same vibe.

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power

I've struggled with my transgender identity for years and as a member of the LGBT community. She-Ra was one of the few times I actually felt seen. Before it, gay characters were never the main leads, and if they were they were not allowed to show affection due to network restrictions. Having a long term romantic arc with two women not played as a joke or as the exception was really inspiring to see.

I'm really not the watching movies/TV person but I like Star Trek. In particular, I like Vulcans.

One of the psychiatries I was at diagnosed me with borderline disorder. That kinda surprised me because I often come across as cold and super-rational, to an extent that it infuriated my therapists that I never let any emotion surface. But there are emotions below my surface that constantly threaten to rip me apart. In bad times, I struggle to contain the urge to commit extreme acts of self-harm that could leave me crippled. I emotionally hurt someone I loved badly in a sudden outburst of darkness. I had to contain myself a lot to not hurt a friend who was just trying to help me in the most disgusting, traumatising way that I can hardly imagine I even considered. It seems like I can only hold myself together by extreme self-control.

So it feels like I can relate to Spock, Tuvok and T'Pol. I don't appreciate people trying to make me let go because honestly they don't know what they're wishing for. When those people lose their self-control, it's not going to be pretty. One famous scene is Tuvok losing it on the holodeck and strangling Neelix to death. I'm not normally into physical violence, but honestly I don't know what I'd be capable of if I lose control.

The lesson is, please just let me be cold and rational. It's the best for everyone involved. Stop trying to assimilate me, stop trying to make me lose my mask. You and I may regret it. I feel like I can relate a great lot to those Vulcans.

Dear Eclipse:
With ref:- Quote :: ""I LIKE VULCANS" - & further comments (see above).

Surely this would do better to have been included in the What's your Sexual Fetish? thread...?!!!!

I tease - purely because I too suffer from such things.
(I am currently working through a Victorian Costume Fetish - way too devious & complex to unpack here!)

If anime is included, it's One Piece!

If not, it's undoubtedly Breaking Bad!

Walking Dead. I don't know why I am so sucked into this show for years, but I think one of the reasons I love it because it explores human psychology so much. Some of the characters are amazing and it helps you to relate to a shitty life.
However, right now I am waiting for Loki. Damn, Tom Hiddleston's Loki can do me anytime:nomouth::smiling:

Disregarding animation, I'd go with MASH, Curb your Enthusiasm, and Six Feet Under. I wish Santa Clarita Diet wasn't canceled. That show was really growing on me with two really strong seasons and a decent third. Consider it an honorable mention.

Bojack horseman, midnight gospel, ordinary people are some. The office, parks and recreation, community b99 as comfort watches. Problematic fave: Girlfriends(2005?ish). And most recent one would be invincible which I was NOT ready for but so good. I'm always apprehensive on starting new series so I just don't or I don't get past halfway

I'm going through the Basil Rathbone Sherlock Holmes films from the 1930/40s at the moment. The X Files and Babylon 5 are probably my favourite series of all time. I just wish they would upgrade the cgi in Babylon 5, because as it stands, it looks like a cheap video game.
