What is the point.

What is the point of living. The only thing certain in life is pain and sadness. We hold on to fleeting moments of happiness and when those are gone, we call it nostalgia.

I don't know. What I can say, is that it really does seem like unhappiness and suffering is the default in life unless you turn yourself into an emotionless robot via certain philosophies / ideologies. These robot people, to me, are the spectators of the game. If you decide to play the game, to be a human with desires, expectations, hopes, dreams, likes and dislikes, then like any game there are winners and losers. Some people (for one reason or another, including luck) lose so terribly no matter what they try or how hard they try that quitting becomes the preferable alternative to continuing to play.

Happiness is a deviation from the norm for people who, again, for whatever reason, rarely if ever get a win.

Beyond that—and in essence—life is meaningless, because even those who grow rich and amass vast fortunes can die at any moment, and their legacy will fade into oblivion within a few decades or, with any luck, a century or two.
