Killing oneself is not a crime. But the cops *will* prevent you from doing it if they see you on time.
Anyway, do not do the deed in a public place, obviously.

Okay. I know. I'm just worried that my sister will notice I haven't came down in time and run upstairs and stop me

You probably wouldn't get arrested. They would more likely force you to go to the ER. From there you'll be forced into a psychiatric hospital. I speak from experience. Psych hospitals usually aren't as horrible as shown on movies but it can be really scary to go anyway, especially if you suffer from anxiety. And they're not very pleasant. You basically temporarily sign over your rights to them and they are in control over everything you do and limit your access to many things. And they tend to be boring because you're not allowed to have access to many things and there's a lot of down time between groups. But if you're admitted to a good one the staff will treat you nicely. (I will say I've been to one where the staff treated us poorly though) But it's very stressful. There's a lot of emotional turmoil and you never know when someone is going to snap and have a breakdown (sometimes that person was me…) But if you're having a crisis and you want to feel safe, they're the way to go. I haven't found them useful for my overall mental health though or my will to live long term.

You've gotten some good answers. In California I believe it's something called a "5150" where the police can forcibly take you to a hospital to be held for up to 72 hours to assess your risk to yourself – not technically an "arrest" in the criminal sense.

If you're found partway through, depending on your method it's more likely to be paramedics who would be called out. If it's obvious you've attempted suicide, you're likely to be held for at least 72 hours at the hospital, but it's hard to say. Many people are released earlier.

You will be sent to the psych ward and then treated like a subhuman

Not arrested per se, but put on not just a 5150, but also they do a "wellness check". Make of that what you will.

No arrest but forcibly admitted to a mental hospital. It's a different environment but both result in you being locked away against your will.
