Hi everyone. I've chosen SN as my main method and i think I'll do it very soon, so i began preparing (mostly mentally). A thought crossed my mind: what exactly causes nausea? The taste or something else? I'll be very grateful if someone explains it to me

I think it's because it's exceptionally salty. Imagine drinking sea-water.

I think salt is an emetic. I imagine that your body also realises at some point that it is a poison and tries to expel it but I don't know for sure.

It's a poison so your body tries to expel it by making you very sick so you puke it out.

I like your username btw ;)

I wish there was more info on this. Maybe there is but I haven't found it yet. I'm pretty sure that drinking 25g of table salt dissolved in water would make you puke as well, no?

I did a SN drill. I wanted to know what it felt like to drink something extremely salty. I put 20g of common salt in 50ml of water. First, the salt did not dissolve, it remained at the bottom, perhaps because there was little water to dissolve it. Second, I had a drink, very salty and it burned my throat. Then, I drank the second drink and immediately gagged, felt sick. I ran to the bathroom but I couldn't vomit, my stomach was empty because I hadn't eaten for almost two days.
It seems incredible to me that my SI was activated, I felt desperate to feel good again. I drank a lot of water and that helped me feel better from the nausea.

I felt all this drinking only 20g of salt (NaCl)... I think that's how it will be when I take the SN. Surely the feeling will be similar or worse.

I did something similar, but with only 5g nacl. It burned my throat a bit and stomach felt warm. I set a timer for 20 mins before I let myself drink water (the main thing I craved). I imagine it's much, much worse in reality, but I feel like I got something from the trial run. I'm also going to try numbing lozenges, to hopefully smooth out the burning sensation.
