Well I'm sure my name may offend some referencing "suicide"... but the actual meaning of what a sui(cide)-squeeze play is in baseball when a runner runs home before the batter bunts. I played baseball for a long time and a gun was always my most likely choice if available, at one point almost was. My life is basically also a constant squeeze play it seems, sometimes caught in a pickle... sometimes taking a risk and rarely "scoring" lol.

So yeah, double meaning :) I'm just curious what the meaning of other's usernames are to them?

Oh don't you just love the "if I knew then what I know now" moments. I can't quite say I know what you mean because I don't, but for my age, my choices too have made me feel beyond my years wondering "what if" these days.

"Ame" is one of the indigenous Japanese readings of the Chinese character: 雨, meaning "rain". Japanese is a language laden with countless homophones context is insanely important, I cannot even begin to explain;;; and so there are many other characters that can be read the same way. One that immediately comes to mind is 飴 ("sweets"/"hard candy") and the much less common 天 ("sky"/"heavens"). I liked the short and sweet quality of "Ame" and there is a personal connection that I have to the character but I won't go into that here.

In a conversation that I had with a dear late member, I was told that "Ame" is actually a conjugation of the verb "Amar" which means to "to love" in Portuguese (their mother tongue). This is also true of Spanish, but I never consciously made the connection until then.
