I intend to hang myself. There are two options for me: 1) partial hanging at home. Tie my rope to a pipe in the kitchen and go through with it. The pipe holds my entire weight so it should work without problems. But I'd only do it if the other plan doesn't work, because I don't want my parents to discover me. 2) full suspension in the forest. I'll tell my parents that I'm going to stay at a friend's place overnight, instead go to the forest during late evening. Get drunk while waiting for sunset, also check if there are people staying nearby (fishing for example). The spot I'm planning to do it is near a lake, there is a metal pull up bar there attached between two trees, it's pretty high and should hold a lot of weight. Adjust my rope and go through with it, hopefully being drunk helps with si. I'm not planning on doing it soon but I think through it a lot

I suggest you go with full suspension if you are serious about your decision bc once you kicked the chair/ladder and there's no one around to rescue you it's only a matter of time. make sure the rope is long enough so you can't grab anything with your hands to pull you up or your feet can touch the ground.

I hope you find peace.

Came here to say this. I would be scared of doing damage to my neck and being paralyzed or something with a strangulation or partial hanging.

I prefer full suspension as well for that reason. There is a platform nailed to the tree near the pull up bar to get up on it, I'll have to adjust the rope so I can't reach it. I'm also thinking about wearing a black bag on my head as to not traumatize whoever finds me too much

My setup should work fine, I've tested it with my weight so there is no chance of the rope untying or anything breaking. The only way I'd survive with full suspension and could end up brain damaged or paralyzed is if someone were to find me prematurely. Will look around for anyone staying near the lake and abort if it's too risky

I don't know much about this. Always thought hanging would be awful, as your neck breaks, but I'm assuming you go dark pretty quick because of the carotid arteries?

Neck only breaks using the drop method and was specifically developed due to the fact it causes near instant unconsiousness and swift death.

As was said already, when the neck breaks you're out in less than a second. But this only works with long-drop. Compressing carotids is essential in partial and short-drop hanging where the noose tightens around your neck due to the weight of your body

Seems like a solid plan, providing the ligature is strong enough to hold your weight, anchor point and noose are well secured and won't come undone. I was initially thinking of partial too, but after reading about failed attempts and aftereffects, full seems much more reliable to succeed with passing out faster and not regaining consciousness afterwards. I've already noted down potential areas of countryside/forested areas where I'll potentially not be found for hours or days. I'm thinking of combining hanging with hyperventilating just before, so I can hold my breath for much longer and more likelihood to pass out before the uncomfortable hypercapnic alarm response could potentially happens in case it takes me longer to pass out. I'm not sure if that will work as I'm thinking though.

My son ctb'd using full at home and was found by his mum, sister and brother.

I can appreciate what you want to do, but would encourage you to make plans which avoid your family finding you. It's a terrible trauma for family members, on top of the loss.

I hope it works out for you and you find peace.

I think some variation of the night-night/tourniquet seems ideal, but doesn't seem to get much discussion here. I know it's cause some people claim that it doesn't work. I mean, in theory, it makes perfect sense. thanks for your response

Thank you, I've tested the rope and the knots multiple times with my weight, I'm pretty confident in them but I will test again when I'm at the spot

Thank you, and I'm sorry for your loss. I want to do it at night in the forest preferably due to this. Most likely will be found by fishermen and I hope they won't be too traumatized. I'm thinking of wearing a black bag on my head as well to cover the potentially gruesome face
