Games What do you think about gender swapping?

Some games let you choose the same protagonist in female or male—like in Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Valhalla. How do you find them?

And for example, I choose Tekken: I used AI image generators to create a female (butch) version of Jin Kazama. Would you play that version, or do you think it's stupid?

I don't think it's stupid. I think we should inhabit whatever characters feel the most comfortable. I (maybe weirdly) tend to play as a male usually in games. Even though I'm a cis woman.

i think its good, having options is always good especially in games like pokemon where its meant to be you in that world, i think options is cool. most of the time when there's only one option, it's male, which is what i would pick anyway, so even tho it doesnt really affect me usually i still think its good to add the option. for anyone who does perfer the other and it doesnt hurt anything for those who would pick the default anyway.

Why would it be stupid? I personally don't really care what gender a game makes me play as but if I'm given the option I usually pick a female character :)

Funny, I was looking to post Sea of Heartbreak on a music thread when I saw this.

As with my opinion about SaSu, giving people a choice is always better than forcing one or the other. Not stupid.
I choose female, when available.
I've never played Silent Hill, but:

If I'm forced to play male, I tend to let them get killed, or catch the bus with them.

I like having a choice between male and female but get annoyed when the romance options are limited by who you pick. My biggest gripe is usually clothing options forced on a player based on what they pick. Many, many times I have picked the male character just so I would not have to wear a dress.
