Normally I play games or watch shows/anime but recently even those escapes have stopped distracting me. It has gotten so bad that even Tiktok barely helps. Music is the only thing left I semi-enjoy and even that has decreased.

So I'm curious what does everyone else do?

Thanks a lot for the advice; I know this might sound cruel and I'm sorry; my family owns a cat and I really do not feel any sort of "love" towards it. I'm sure that's uncommon and idk what's wrong with me.

Just wanting some peace

No, I'd never be able to cope with something as torturous and dreadful as existence that I just always saw as a mistake, it's just so horrible how the torture of being burdened with this existence can continue for decades longer just for one to face the terrible extreme agony of old age.

To suffer in this existence will just always be the most terrible, torturous burden and this existence just should never be imposed no matter what, all that existence ever does is just cause all this pain, suffering and cruelty with no limit as to how much agony one can feel. I'll just always see it as an abomination to suffer in this existence and I always suffer from existing in this horrific world where humans have made it inaccessible to painlessly cease existing, all I want is the peace of non-existence.

I doomscroll, rot in my bed and daydream with music on. Sometimes play games, sometimes watch shows, but it's difficult to focus on something

Gaming, cigarettes, weed, self-harm, I've had so many hobbies before but I've lost my passion for them. So now i just vegetate in my room waiting for my ctb date. It's a sad existence.

Cigarettes, self harm, video games, bedrotting, doomscrolling tiktok, music, crochet, drawing, random crafts here and there.

It changes day by day depending on how good or bad I'm feeling.

Thank you for this thread, I think it's good to talk about what we do while we bide our time, or haven't decided 100%, or can't ctb yet for whatever reason.

Music is a big one for me. I like to listen to music that takes me back to a better time (indie or electronica from 2003-2012 at the moment). Also enjoying Icelandic tunes to sleep. Weed helps, although I'm on a T break right now. Weirdly, therapy - it doesn't convince me to live but it's nice to know I'm sorting out my mind and seeing relationships for what they really are. I also like knowing that someone knows what a fucking wild life I had (high highs, very low lows). A cleaning project. Hacking up weeds in the garden. Playing with my dog. Video games. Re-reading my favourite books. Reading the news and climate projections reinforces for me that I would have a limited future anyway, and I'd rather go out on my own terms. Cleaning out my shit so no one else has to afterwards. Sorting out my will and that kind of thing. Making sure the people I care about know what they mean to me.

Providing comfort to people here, too, where I can. Advocating for VAD in my country so others don't have to do what we're doing in 5/10 years time, if we last that long.

Reading books is a huge one for me. Pop on some music and sit down with a good book. In the earlier days of my depressive spiral, there was a lot of focus on suicide-related literature, but I've gradually been able to expand it to other types of books. After losing my interest in pretty much everything else I was doing due to anhodenia, somehow reading was able to remain an interest.

Could u recommend me some suicide-related literature? Preferably fiction.

Admittedly, in the realm of fiction, my knowledge isn't too great, but here's a list of some media with suicide-related topics in it. Most of the books listed there I have read and I think are decent reads (I have not read The Pact, Together We Will Go, or Veronika Decides to Die) but what you consider decent will obviously be different than what I consider decent. The Sorrows of Young Werther is, to me, also a decent read and a classic, but it is heavily contentious (even giving rise to the "Werther effect" to describe so-called 'copycat suicides').

I have read Together We Will Go, I didn't like it much. Thanks for the list!

I've run out of things that actually make me feel better. I just get home from work and instantly take NyQuil and sleeping pills. I'm either at work or I'm unconscious. Sleep is all I have.

I am also using sleeping pills after work. Isn't it ineffective after a while? How long have you taken sleeping pills for? Why using NyQuil?

Driving my motorcycle, fast... Maybe I'll involuntary die this way and not even need to ctb BTW, who knows... My husband died this way 6 years ago and since then I didn't stop to want to join him. Anyway when I'll ctb it will be by fsh as I want my body to be still intact and to die peacefully at home. If I die on the road it will be truely accidentally.

Just take more! I don't take it on weekends so I don't get dependent. I've done this about 2 years now. And it's zzzquil actually - just sleep aid. I take a normal dose plus melatonin. Sometimes Benadryl too if I'm really upset about something

Anything involving my favorite fictional characters and OCs. Video games, art, writing, virtual photography... though I rarely have the energy for creativity these days. :( So I just play my favorite games over and over again. Currently modding BG3, Skyrim, and Sims4 to death.

alcohol and obsession (not the movie), unfortunately.

i can only cope if i'm not sober. everything feels normal when i drink. like, i can function normally (ironically). and obsessing over someone, in my case, idols. has helped me a bit. when i feel sad, i'd write 2k words long letter for her. and just adoring her so much. unfortunately, both aren't healthy. but nothing else helps anymore too for me!!
