What would you expect from a society steeped in Christian values?
That we must suffer to be worthy of Jesus' sacrifice? This bs is infuriating.

To keep living in hopes you'll one day find happiness. Or, to try coping with natural stuff and meditate.

"try other therapists or other medication, you must have just not found the right one yet"
You beat me to the punch.

I've not fallen for that trap. I tried a few meds and they've basically fucked me up. Therapy helps, but it's more of an outlet to keep my existence bearable, but not enough to change my mind, even though my counselor has been a wonderful one.

These people are trash.
The vast majority of the human species is nothing but a putrid landfill seething with stupidity, self-righteousness, arrogance, cowardice, callousness, and sadism.

They'll say anything except accepting that death is an option
They'd rather torture us then to accept death, and I don't say that lightly. They would rather force us to live like prisoners rather than giving us the OPTION to leave. I can't remember exactly who on this forum said it, but it's a message that really resonated with me. "Everybody should have the option to say enough" and I couldn't agree more, being stripped away of that fundamental right is nothing less than torture.

Because we're conditioned to think these things, so those who never experienced what it's like to want the option to leave usually believe suicide=bad. It's hard to change a mind that's been fed biased thoughts.

But why the need to go on a crusade? Why not just grieve the loss of your dead child in private?

I enjoy your posts weebster. You are straight to the point and put thought into them. Anyway, good question. I think they just want to pretend that we will get well (some do but many don't) from all the pills, prep talks and what not. But as we all know, here, life is messy and doesn't always work out the way we want it.

People can fall ill, lose jobs, break up with people, have mental and/or physical ailments. So many things can spiral downwards and so quickly. I don't think these mental health doctors can help much because the world is too screwed up. Society culls the weak in the cruellest ways possible.

In fact in my country, the UK, we have a government that puts mentally and physically disabled people through hell with the threats of benefit sanctions and puts them through strict medical boards that are designed to cut their money. Some of those MP's were even calling to bring back the Victorian era style workhouses for what they deem to be the feckless and lazy members of society who are scroungers that don't pull their weight.

Then if they believe a person is beyond help and a threat to their slave system they put them in psych wards, drug them up and treat them like misbehaved children. And if the pills don't work and they get tired of them staying they just let them escape to kill themselves like Irish singer Sinead O'Connor's young son. We live in a fucked up, largely uncaring, greedy society who only want the strongest members to keep their crony Capitalistic system alive to keep the rich, fat and detached from the rest of us. And they call us sick hahahaha. They are the real sickness and they are infecting all of us. Sad world, just sad.

For my son, who feels he no longer wants to live, I do not wish for him to suffer. I do wish that he embrace any religion to suffer for the sake of religion. I do not wish he medicate if he says it doesn't help him, and I see the result that in his case it does not. I wish only for the possibility that the person he was, up until around age 13 be remembered, and if the person he was at 13 changed into the person he is now, perhaps there is hope another change can happen and not necessarily a worse one. I know from my experience of living many years that there have been many versions of me. I once even gave them version names, just like phones have (iphone 1, iphone 2). I do not feel that the human I was at age 15 is the person here on the other end of this computer typing this. I have almost nothing in common with her. I do not feel that the human I was at age 25 is the person here typing that was once the human at age 15, that is now the human decades older than that. I want my son to understand it. He remembers being 7 years old and so excited to wake up that he slept in the shape of a turtle so he could leap out of bed faster. He will tell you he has nothing in common with that boy anymore, and that he really isn't that person. That is okay. I am not the same person who gave birth to him. My son, who is now 25, I wish will one day be 35 and will remember the human he was at 25 and perhaps there is a glimmer of hope that he will be happy and recover.

What do I suggest?

No, not that he suffer.

That he have hope for continued evolution - as we all evolve.

Don't stop...... believing!!! That's everyone's answer to everything. They believe there is always a solution to every problem. But the truth is that sometimes death is the only reasonable solution, but people don't want to accept the truth. They prefer wishful thinking and comforting lies.

Suck it up. Don't complain when you get tortured due to the sick system, life and human race, infact get into it, gaslight yourself out of the truth and become the same and do it to others as well. Do any fucking thing but just don't commit suicide okay! And know that at the end we don't care that much about any option you choose. It's only about our own hyporcrisy, narcissism, lies and assumptions that we want to protect at all cost. This has been my personal experience with 'pro-lifers'.

Or the even more callous, "Get over it and learn to live with it." which my bf's family said to him behind my back while I was upstairs crying about being disabled.

I do not think that anti choice people care about those who are suicidal. The society does not respect our right to die and tries to force us to live. It is cruel how people have to resort to risky methods to end their pain, a peaceful suicide should be a human right. There is nothing that would ever make me want to live and I am trapped in this world as it is so difficult to leave. All that I want is to pass away peacefully.

They think that you're wrong, and that they know better. They know if you keep treating your mind like a flask in a chem lab eventually you will be okay and like everyone else. They've never been on a psychiatric drug, they dont know what its lie to try medicine after medicine only to see your situation get worse by the day. They don't actually care, just put of a facade of "I'm a good person and do the right things". They steer clear of the mentally ill like everyone else

"Find a hobby"
"It will get better"
"Just take things one step at a time"
"I knew this one person who also had depression"

The problem with pro-lifers is that they like to use success stories of other people as a means to say "Look at x person they suffered from y and managed to become successful and happy."

A good example that I heard from a pro-lifer was "Look Stevie Wonder is blind and managed to become successful and happy in life." Pro-lifers tend to nitpick these few and far between exceptions as a means of "If they can do it you can do it too." The problem is these cases are rare exceptions and not the rule. Many blind people around the world are not happy/ try to cope with the impairment they have. Pro-lifers use rare exceptions and try to generalize it as the rule, but at the end of the day for every success story there are hundreds of forgotten stories of people who tried to overcome hardship and failed. That's why these success stories are call exceptions and not the rule.

Yeah the people in my life have pulled that shit too and they hate when I point out that those examples are not me and I'm not them.
