Being Christian, I guess I'm rather glad that new atheism is beginning to fall with many adherents turning [back] to Christianity~ especially because it was very much anti-theist rather than atheist and intolerant towards people who did believe in higher powers, seeking to have them apostatize at all costs~ :( It's kinda neat how it revitalized apologetics on the Christian side tho as it's fun to listen to those types of videos~ :) I hope religion is revitalized in many people's souls personally~ :)

Before, atheism was linked to ideologies such as communism, this new atheism was a break from the norm, I found these ideas that were around YouTube in the 2010s interesting

I think it made atheism popular and put it into the spotlight whereas before atheists probably wouldn't talk about their beliefs.

I was juuust too young for it, I only found out about Sam Harris like a few years ago and by then the "movement," if it can be called that, had already fizzled out. Retrospectively, it seems to me that the movement was necessary to shift the Overton Window (in the US at least), but it was far too harsh and full of arrogance/superiority complexes vis-a-vis religious people. I'm glad that aspect has simmered down now, and today, the atheist community I follow on YouTube (ex. Genetically Modified Skeptic) tends to be measured, calm, and charitable, with its interactions with theists being in good-faith.

The vitriol was necessary to uproot the evil that has laid waste to our lands. For too long have we suffered under the tyranny of the religious!

And yet their conclusion is correct. Religion is wrong. It's claims made ridiculous when you realize they are infused with magical silliness.

I just finished reading the book of John from the bible. At the end it says something like "I was a witness to these things. They are true. And if I were to write down everything Jesus had done, there would not be enough books in the world to contain them." Why should we believe he was a witness? The gospels were written anonymously.
