I wish there were a way to genetically modify humans and animals to survive more easily off of different food sources.

I think many people would find it easier to stick to a vegan or vegetarian diet if our digestive systems were built differently. You could also potentially suppress appetite/overeating and prevent malnutrition. Not to mention make it easier off of livestock to live off of cheap foodstuffs. I know they have to give cattle antibiotics (contributing to the creation of superbugs) because they feed them corn, and their guts, adapted to grass, can't handle it.

I'd like a way for artificial intelligence to be truly conscious, and for us to be able to upload ourselves to a virtual reality simulation. Once in, we could avail ourselves of illness and disabilities, erase certain memories or enhance ones we liked. Loved ones human and animal, would be waiting for us, themselves conscious and eternally healthy, and we'd be unconstrained by physics - personally, I'd make myself a wizard. The entire experience would be much like a vivid lucid dream, except our voluntary volition would be much higher.

Yes, and I was also going to say this sounds like sci-fi heaven. The Matrix had plenty of suffering, so I think sci-fi heaven is closer.

What happens if you travel far enough forward in your time machine that the entire universe collapses, and with it, the whole of reality including time... How can a time machine exist in the absence of reality, and how can it continue to function in the absence of time? Could this potentially be a futuristic suicide method?

Ya know, maybe the science nerds can chime in here, but I've always felt the entire concept of time travel to be bullshit. I'm not even sure time exists outside the brain. Just because we can measure it doesn't mean it exists outside our minds.

I'm a science nerd myself, but a very different area of science - I've always been shit at physics and anything math-related. But from my limited understanding, time travel is possible in a limited sense under general relativity, astronauts who travel into orbit age 0.0005 something or other seconds slower than those of us on earth. But if they were to travel fast enough (close to the speed of light), then that number would be much higher and therefore the earth would age many hundreds of years for what would be just a couple of seconds to the astronaut. Apologies to any physics geeks out there for butchering the explanation!

Having said that, our perception of time is far more amenable. Could it not be said that a dementia patient has subjectively time travelled when their conscious 'now' is actually thirty-odd years ago and their perception of reality sufficiently limited such, that notion remains unchallenged? It certainly questions what we really mean by "time travel", I mean, how would we even know? We could be like the dementia patients, simply believing that we'd travelled in time, perhaps that would be enough.

I mean obviously a way to erase my existence and completely disappear.
Apart from that I would love to see the future so you have the ability to stop things from happening and change things. Also a way to experience life from an animals point of view, just for a little bit. I would love to see the world the way my cat does and experience being a cat.

I might be misunderstanding this, but if it's only a simulator, it merely shows him how normal, happy people live, but doesn't turn him into one.
It is as if a man in a wheelchair experiences what it's like to walk in some simulator, only to step out to find himself in his wheelchair again.
Even if he could spend the rest of his life in the simulator, he will always be aware of the illusion.
