The grudge (2004)
Rec (2007)
Insidious - the last key (2018)
I liked The Grudge too.
Candyman the score in itself will make you crawl out of your skin.
Oh My God Candyman is one of my all time favourite movies and yeah the musical score by Philip Glass is outstanding!

Well it really depends on what sort of horror films you like such as paranormal, gore, sci fi horror etc.... but heres a few of my favourites -

The House of 1000 Corpses
The Brood
Carrie (70's original)
Dark Water (Japanese version)
Tales from the Dark Side
Grave Encounters
Let the Right One in.
If you prefer the spooky over the gory type then i think you gonna enjoy these:
- The Exorcist (1973) (a classic masterpiece)
- The Amityville Horror (1979)
- The Entity (1982)
- The Haunting in Connecticut
- The Autopsy of Jane Doe
- Sinister 1
And if you like found footage type, the following are good, for me they are underrated:
- Grave Encounters 1 & 2
- The Possession of Michael King
I enjoyed Grave Encounters.
Thought it was a really original take on the found footage genre.

Lovely Molly is a great horror film. It's very underrated! Japanese horror films always are top notch, also the Korean film....A tale of two sisters is good! I like more obscure horror now. Hollywood horror films are too predictable and trope filled for my liking! The first four Saw films were good. House of a thousand corpses is a great film, love Rob zombie! The original Nosferatu film is good! I love Psychological horror more than slasher horror or torture horror. Zombie films are some of my favourite films! The original Blair witch is also worth a watch!
I just saw The Lighthouse (2019) earlier this week, which is getting a lot of hype from cinema nerds, for good reason tbh. Same director as The VVitch so although I wouldn't call it explicitly horror as it is a super tense drama w/ supernatural elements, it is a really well-done movie with a big time sense of dread looming over it the whole time.

I've actually bee working through a list of horror movies, I typically like the ones that are more slow burns tho. Noroi: The Curse (2005) is super fucking great even though its length and winding narrative might be a bit much, I generally think it's one of the most unforgettable things I've seen. I also can't recommend The Wailing (2016) enough.
Yes! I love The Wailing! Great film!

Yes! Great director! I also like Park Chan Wook, the director of Oldboy too! Although it's not a horror film.I'm obsessed with Korean films, mostly revenge and horror genres.
Another film me and my boyfriend are going to watch is Train to Busan! Have you seen it yet?

Park Chan Wook is a great director. I personally loved The Handmaiden. Have you ever gone through the Vengeance trilogy? Fans forget that Oldboy is the second movie. I would recommend whenever given the chanc to read the Oldboy comics. They're decent and provide some differences that were not in Park Chan Wook's adaptation.

Train To Busan is on my watch list.

Oh yes I've watched Sympathy for lady vengeance and Sympathy for Mister vengeance. I love those films! I didn't know that Oldboy comics even existed! I must check them out. I do love trilogy films.
off topic of horror and revenge films....if you like trilogy films, check out Lars Von Triers depression series. Anti christ, Melancholia and Nymphomaniac! He has depression and he wrote the scripts/ made the films when he was in a particularly bad depression phase. I haven't watched The Handmaiden yet. I will definitely check it out! Thank you!
Forgot to add......Another good horror film is "Mother" with Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem! That film is a rollercoaster!

I don't see many creature features noted in here, so here are some of the ones I've most enjoyed:

Alligator (1980)
Dog Soldiers (2002)
Exists (2014)
Feast (2005)
Howl (2015)
Lake Placid (1999)
Piranha (2010)
Rogue (2007)
Silver Bullet (1985)
Slither (2006)
The Pyramid (2014)
The Relic (1997)

While not necessarily a creature feature (maybe partly), I'd also suggest checking out Hatchet I, II, and III (the fourth one was awful).

Must admit horror movies don't do anything for me, not with fantastic monsters at least. Think reality is far more terrifying, even in film. I did enjoy horror as a kid and before the mhi, but of course I wasn't allowed to watch them. So, yeah;

It (1990), the movie sucked, but Tim Curry as the clown creeped me out.

Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street were good fun (still like these two, just not scared of them).

Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003), but I think that was mostly because of the girls, hehe.

The Shining (1980), those 70's carpets creeped me out for some reason. Love the winter ambience and music, but doesnt scare me per se. The movie has great flow though and I watched it high once or twice. Totally loved the scene with Scatman Crothers talking the family through the provisions...

Shining

Realistic horror I liked;

Misery (1990) Very good movie, Kathy Bates is fantastic.

Vacancy (2007) Really cool idea, but can't tell or it'll ruin the movie. Use good speakers when watching this.

Eden Lake (2007) Awesome film.

The Descent (2005) was mentioned, erm, awesome, had me totally hooked when it was playing on claustrophobia, being stuck and almost crushed in that cave. Why did they ruin it with silly monsters?

The Witch was mentioned, are we talking the 2015 one with Anya Taylor Joy? Cool film, great ambience.

Henry - Portrait of a Serial Killer (1986), again awesome. Love real crime. Very creepy. Highly recommend that one, good call, BE.

Honourable mention to zombie films, they're really great fun, but so few of them are actually good imho. The best for me is Dawn of the Dead (2004), love it. And T., you didn't read that. x :hihi:

PS: One might as well mention Alien (1979), it's listed as horror, and one of the greatest scifi films there is. Did I mention ambience and music before... <3

alien is a great film. A real " woman in peril" film! Love it!
the Shining is also a great film! When that creepy old woman gets out of the bath tub.....THAT creeped me out!
@voyager have you seen " Lovely Molly" and " Mother" ?.....They are great horror films! "Mother" stars Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem!

Here are a few that haven't been mentioned yet:

Videodrome (1983) also check out Cronenberg's remake of The Fly from 1986 if you like body horror.

Psycho (1960) iconic and holds up to this day. Another Hitchock horror I enjoy is The Birds.

The Prince of Darkness (1987) Carpenter's The Thing has also been mentioned and for good reason, it's fantastic. The Fog from Carpenter is also worth checking out.

The Haunting (1963) a haunted house movie that may not be as outright scary as many other horror films but it's so magnificently shot and acted it's one of my favorite movies of all time.
