Ended up getting lost in the woods, walked around for 7 hrs at night in pitch black. Could barely see my feet, was surreal at times. That's what people do in their 30s on saturday nights, right ? Found a good spot to catch the train though. Every once in a while a car would go by from the other side and I'd stare at it's lights, pretending it was the train drawing closer, would I be able to put myself in front of it and not move ? I hate that there's no way to know how you're gonna react when you're actually facing your end, no amount of "studying" is gonna give you that answer, doesn't matter your level of desperation, you can still get scared and back out at the last moment. Don't wanna do that with the train method though...

I'm sorry that life has brought you to this point. It sucks because no level of preparation is enough for ctb, practical or psychological. Please know that if you do happen to back out at the last minute, that's completely okay. There is no shame or embarrassment in this at all. Let me know if you'd like to talk.

The train method sounds so terrifying to me, I admire those with the courage for it, I doubt that I could ever go through with it. But anyway I wish you the best of luck.

I have personal reasons to sort of fantasize this method... much like jumping from a tall building, it's practically a romantic idea to me. It seems terribly difficult though, even ignoring the SI issue. Timing it right to move in front of them before your SI can kick in but before there's any risk of only a partial impact that isn't enough to CTB, or just missing the train entirely... it's practically an art. Plus many tracks are now fenced off and difficult to get to, when there's many lines you can't really hide from the train so it won't slow down, and if it's not fast enough... the thought of waking up in a bed after that is horrifying. Where I live trains are rare, and never very fast...

Still, I hope you find some reason to change your mind and not CTB at all.

I use the train to get to work every day. I have stood on the platform and watched the train come in and wondered what it would be like to jump in front of it.

Then realised absolutely no way would I be doing that. Not for me.

If you decide to go that way good luck, you are very brave.

I have done something similar with the metro system where I live. The problem is that the metro trains are usually slowing down when they enter the station, with my luck, I'd end up getting hit by the metro train at such a slow speed that I'd end up with a minor concussion and a bad headache!

From family working on freight trains, a majority of the time freight trains won't stop or slow until they hit something because of being potentially put behind schedule if the thing in the way decides to move away at the last minute.

Still don't think I could ever do it. I know those engineers go through a lot of trauma knowing they assisted suicide. But it's nice to fantasize sometimes. People who do manage to do it are lucky.

Yes initially when i first thought of CTB I thought of jumping front of a train. Definitely would check timetable for a fast train that was passing thru and not stopping at station. I thought that best way for me is there a crossing (tractor path I think, warning lights and mechanical gates) Easy for me to get either last/first train when still dark. With black clothes (small chance of being seen) minimum mess for people to see. But SI would be intense.
