I read this on Quora, ya it's a bad site I know, but it seems reasonable. Anyone know if this would work? And if it did is it possible that it would be untracable?
What happens if you inject pure water into your veins?
Get enough in and it ruptures the red cells by osmotic action. This causes the plasma potassium to rise as the K+ concentration in the cells is about 140 whereas it is around 4.5 in plasma. This can stop the heart quite quickly. If that does not happen, the haemoglobin released can by deposited in the kidneys, causing kidney shut down, which may kill you before it recovers.
