My mains were Oro and Yun. In Tekken I was all about Yoshimitsu.

Except for maybe Cyberpunk 2077 and Vampire Bloodlines 2, this year feels kind of light in games I'm looking forward to.
I liked Yoshimitsu in the early games. I do not like his constant design changes lol.

I actually do want to try Cyberpunk when it comes out. The trailers look fun.

The original Resident Evil 3 was actually my entry point in the series. Nemesis looks really cool.

ACNH has taken over my life right now. Not working since my workplace closed up so it's keeping me occupied.

I'm using custom firmware and not entirely legitimate games, so it's a shame I can't actually play with others. I'm really pleased with my passport though!

Cry of Fear, a survival horror that tells the dark and depressing story of Simon Henriksson.
Cry of Fear header
I absolutely adore this game and everything about it. It gives the characters good depth and conveys what they mean to Simon well. At first what seems like an average survival horror develops into the tale of Simon's reality. You feel bad for what he's endured, what's he's been through, and you can almost feel it yourself too. If there's anything I love the most about this game, it's the soundtrack. It adds such a beautiful and twisted atmosphere to the story, whether it be a
the calm piano echoing over the introduction or the hammering, wailing noises as you traverse a dark but terrifying building filled with monsters that lust for spilling your blood.
It's a shame to see this being the only game asides from Afraid Of Monsters (which was a good HL mod, but not quite COF level) that Team Psykskallar have made, as there is huge potential for more they could do.
I highly recommend anyone into horror to give this a shot, it's absolutely worth it.

I've just been watching the game play. Looks pretty good. As if it would be otherwise with these guys.

I played Diablo and D2 which were cool but I got annoyed with how much junk you had to inventory. I've tried to get into the F2P Path of Exile which is a Diablo clone, but it's just too clunky for the same reason.

Nowadays I'm playing League of Legends occasionally. There's One For All featured game mode available right now. Playing co-op increases the chances for us to get the champs we're picking. Anyone wants to play? EUNE server, name is the same as here. My rank throughout seasons was Silver, in case it's an important detail.

I'm willing to co-op with players of any rank, I guess, Iron or Diamond. No flaming and leaving, that is all :)

I play exclusively featured game mods, and I really liked URF mode.

I sunk so many hours into this game when I was a kid. Even today I find it hard to express the sense of wonder which I felt travelling through all the gorgeous and fantastic galaxies in the game. Soaring in the starry sky above the Comet Observatory after I had gained the ability to fly---what a magnificent experience.
I now realize this is quite an old post, but SMG was a big part of my childhood. To this day I still listen to the soundtrack just to remind myself of my childhood... it's also the first game that made me shed tears.

Yes! It always made me tear up a bit when Rosalina read from her storybook and shared the poignant tale of her life with the lumas as her audience. I've heard rumors that they're remastering SMG for the switch which would be a dream come true!

Assassin's Creed: Valhalla looks interesting.

I really enjoyed the previous two, being a sponge for all things Grecian and Egyptian I lapped them up, I'm proper disappointed they've gone down the Viking route, that period and all the lore bores me, what with the rebooted God of War, Thor and Loki in Marvel films, Game of thrones to an extent given it takes a lot of inspiration for Viking mythology. It's everywhere. It'll be a damn flat AC game too being based in England. Won't be much to climb either given our landscape, especially at that point in time. Will they make it dark and depressing, as the weather nearly always is? It'll look a lot uglier than most AC games, it'll be all grey skies and mud.

Seems an odd choice as a setting, and they're 5 years too late to jump on the Viking bandwagon. It'll sell like hot cakes regardless.

I'll pass on it and hope they go Mayan/Incan at some point. I'm fed up of men with beards and axes now.

I'm currently playing The History of Ages, which is a mod for The Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-earth 2: The Rise of the Witch-King (damn the name is so long)

I also have Edain Mod 4.5 installed and plan to explore it once I'm done toying with THoA. If anyone is interested in playing War of the Ring mode vs. bots in either of these mods, do let me know.

I've been playing Red Dead Redemption 2 and love it so far. I'm still getting through the story but loving jumping online for a little bit too.

Is anyone else amused with the ways they die in games?

I'm not trying to kill my player like just jumping from high places, just meant like online mode I just find it kinda entertaining but also amps me for playing more too.

I've said it before, I'll preach again - GTA 5, cabbie mode!
Finish the tutorial, unlock Michael, steal a taxi, and start delivering people.
Gather some money and look into the stock market.

Another weirdly fun one is rollercoin.com which doubles as a Bitcoin faucet. I mention this one because I have plans, although I'll need to sit down with the mods and discuss them first.

Me and husband used to be "gamers". We even met online. We played almost everything we ever could. Spent most of our life in ffxiv where we just chilled when not playong other stuff. It all dropped down as we moved in and married, for better. Last year we just played overwatch all the way. Planed getting 2nd ps4 and overwatch for my bday. Instead he died on my bday. Canceled second ps4. Now i just play overwatch, pretending hes still next to me cheering me on, guiding me where to go, and calling out ppls mistakes on mic for me lol. It hurts. I unlocked all the skins and emotes he wanted. He got me 25k credits before he died, he was excited about finaly playing aniversary and summer events. He didnt get to enjoy them but i hope he was with me. Cringe i know but its last strand of sanity before my overwatch is gone. Then idk what to do

Video games are, for a lot of us, a major coping method and for some their only remaining passion. Post the name(s) of your favorite game(s), describe what you love about them and what they mean to you.

I'll start:

The Pikmin Series
A real-time strategy game series about tiny and adorable creatures called Pikmin. You play as a - similarly sized - alien that crashes on a post-apocalyptic Earth. There are no humans left and the ecosystem has almost completely recovered. In each game installment, you're tasked with collecting specific items (Space Ship parts in P1, "treasure" in P2 and fruit in P3) with the help of our plant/animal hybrids.
SI_WiiU_Pikmin3_image1600w.jpg

Apart from having stellar gameplay, cute creature designs and a beautiful soundtrack, Pikmin was the very first game I played as a kid and I loved every second of it. These little adorable bastards have been in my life forever and they taught me that death is just a part of life and not anything to be afraid of. One of my biggest regrets is that I probably won't be around anymore for Pikmin 4 (and with the current development times, no one will).
My son LOVED this game!
A Hat in Time. Man, A Hat in Time is like my comfort game now.

a-hat-in-time-hd-wallpapers-32680-2278283.png

It's the best new 3D platformer we've had in like a decade. Reminds me of simpler times and makes me feel like a kid again. All the charm and dark humor just makes me love the game even more.

I just boot up the game sometimes, turn on Online Party Mode, and just play and mess around with others. Or the mods, the developers are avid modding supporters, so the modding community is amazing.

Or there's nothing like just chilling out with some Minecraft. Working on some random project like an XP Farm for hours.

0fe20042_0bb8_4781_82f4_7130f928b021.0.jpg

Spyro the Dragon. Another nice game to just to just chill out with. Huge childhood game for me. Was my favorite when I was a kid. I was ecstatic when I heard about the Reignited Trilogy.

spyro_reignited_trilogy_wallpaper_hd_by_sonicx2011_dcdxmuy-pre.jpg

Journey. Absolutely beautiful game. Had a pretty big impact on me.

thumb-1920-787047.jpg

Kingdom Hearts. Something something darkness darkness heart darkness.

144048.jpg

Max Payne 2. Holy shit, this game had a very big impact on me, and put me into serious Post Series Depression.

download-1.jpg

And soooo much more, I'm not going to list them all. Video Games have been a huge part of my life, and mean so much to me. I love getting sucked into these cool interesting worlds, so much better than real life.
Seeing more of my son's favorites, especially Minecraft and Kingdom of Hearts.
I play life simulators for their relaxing aspect (Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley), some JRPGs (Tales series, later Persona games) and quite a few indie titles (random itch.io games). It's something to do. I spend a lot of time in mindless games like Overwatch and MMOs when I'm depressed, because it's very easy to rely on muscle memory and zone out.

Can't say I have. I've only heard of Alice: Madness Returns because of its absurd Steam sale prices (dropping below a dollar, so people would buy it for the sake of just having it.) But it looks like the one I'm thinking of didn't do as well critically as the one you're mentioning. What do you enjoy most about it?

I've spent far too much time in Overwatch (golden player portrait). I only play casually though, because I don't enjoy competition. Do you enjoy any particular characters or roles?
Yes to Animal Crossing. I also like Harvest Moon and Twilight Princess.
My favorite is Sims 2, because I like building and messing with my characters. Alas, I don't have a computer right now to play it. Also liked Spyro and Zelda games which my son and I usually played together. Still love my Gamecube!

I played Signs of the Sojourner and Griftlands recently, and both managed to be really, really interesting takes on deckbuilding roguelikes. I'll admit, my liking for them is more as a dev than as a player, but that doesn't change that they're very enjoyable.
