I read that article. The author lived in NY, in a very noisy area. I can see the investment of $260 if they blocked out all sound and really helped the person sleep. If they lasted 2 years, that's only about $12/month. But the conclusion was they did keep things quiet, but got uncomfortable most nights, so the author still didn't get a good night's rest.

Also, I think if you have even the slightest tinnitus, the absolute silence of these would actually make that condition appear much worse. There are white noise options that I believe work better for most people.

I worked at a place like that. It was a warehouse, and we would have like 50% turnover every week. If someone lasted two months, it was a lot.

but no society shouldnt concern itself with these types of lazy people who choose not to work smart or hard enough while everyone who works hard and smart by building useless startups to be featured on the news. Why cant they do that too? What is stopping them? They just keep complaining when they pretty much have as much chance at success as everyone else. I suggest such stories should be cancelled forever from circulation over major internet websites and social media. We need to talk more about success and not about failures
