  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

do you fear failing any future attempts because you absolutely know or think that the people around you, if your were in a vegetative state, would keep you alive for money even if you're not getting that much for your condition or disability

along with keeping you alive because they want to use this opportunity to be a caregiver to show that they are a "good person" when they really aren't at all and also to abuse you and get away with it

I fear this because some of my family members haven't exactly had this done to them but they have been abandoned in care homes (sometimes abused by the staff and still kept in those homes despite these incidents) instead of just being put to rest years ago

but they (family members who abandoned them) still say they love them or think about them only when they are brought up in conversation every couple of months
or when another event of abuse or neglect by a carer (most if not all of these people aren't qualified and places like this tend to attract people who want to abuse the vulnerable) had happened and they had to go and visit them
or they just visit them to show to the world they are good person or doing a good deed similar to those who only go to church for the same reasons

I just fear being in a vegetative state period.

What if I'm still locked in there somehow. That'll make everything 500 times worse than it is now.

Sometimes I know the family doesn't get the final say on pulling the plugs and care facilities and hospitals keep people alive for paydays.

It's complicated. I don't think my family would intentionally keep me alive, they would let me die at the hospital. BUT if I pulled through and was left in some half state and didn't have a choice I fully expect they would put me in a home because they wouldn't be able to care for me 24/7. They would still care but being a full time caregiver isn't possible for most people and assisted suicide wouldn't be an option.

I guess it's not an unreasonable fear. I, for one, am not going to dwell on what *might* happen should I fail. I think it is much more important to concentrate on making sure, at least to the extent possible, that I have done every possible thing on my end to ensure that I don't fail and end up a vegetable.
