Hi guys, a few weeks ago, I wrote a farewell post, because I thought that my method would be completely successful. I wanted to die via nitrogen hypoxia, but I think I used the wrong type of mask. This is the mask that I used, and it didn't work https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F22FFZBM?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

Now I want to try again using a scuba mask, but I have a few questions regarding how it would connect to a regulator with a CGA 580 fitting, such as what type of hose should I use. Does anyone have any advice?

@Jason0941 What went wrong?
I'm not sure what went wrong. There weren't any nitrogen leaks. I think the problem might have been with type of mask that I used. I used a medical oxygen mask (linked in my original post). My hypothesis is that since the mask didn't provide an airtight seal on my face: oxygen and other atmospheric gases mixed with the nitrogen & the system failed. I want to try using a scuba mask, because I know they would certainly provide an airtight seal.

I saw an article about a man who successfully used a scuba mask & inert gas for his suicide attempt. Here's a picture from the article containing what he used. I am hoping that you or someone else who sees this reply can analyze the picture & help me identify the type of regulator and hose that he used. If you find any info about the supplies in this photo: please send me a private message with the details.

I saw that article too, and I've been wanting to replicate his method ever since. And like you, I also wonder about his type of equipment - and especially about what type of scuba-regulator that would fit the connection on a nitrogen-gas-tank.

So, did anyone send you a private message with the details about these things?

Nitrogen-hypoxia by the use of scuba-diving-equipment (like the lucky guy in the article had), is quite simply the ultimate suicide-method (especially if the scuba-diving-regulator can be set at a gas-flow of 15 litres per minute; and especially if you use a full-faced scuba-diving-mask, where you have much greater visibility, and where you can inhale/breath in the gas through your nose, instead of just through your mouth) - aside from the fact that such scuba-diving-equipment is very expensive (especially if it is bought brand new - which would probably be best, to ensure that the scuba-diving-equipment works flawlessly).

No, nobody sent me any messages about it yet.

im using the same mask but along with exit bag. the mask alone doesnt work. the mask doesnt seal the contact area. u can read about my experience here

sorry to ask questions rather than answer them, but ive had this nitrogen cylinder for a couple of years

https://www.boc.co.nz/shop/en/nz/gases/nitrogen-gas/nitrogen-ultra-high-purity-grade

i tried inhaling from it and it gives me an instant urge to breath actual air, exactly like suffocating. can anyone here explain why, has the gas potentially expired from age?
Just wondered if you found out the cause of this. I have a cylinder that is a couple of years old too
