I've been thinking about a method that involves gluing the nostrils and mouth with some gum to prevent breathing. Does anyone know if it works?

That's pretty painful and agonizing if you cannot breath anymore while you're conscious. What is the rest of the method?

Probably not if that's the only thing you plan to do in the method. SI will most definitely make you tear the gum out before you asphyxiate. I see how it could potentially be combined with other more reliable methods though, if you want to seal the chances further.

I think the biggest negative point would be the glue making your mouth and nostrils burn. But other than that, I don't see it as a bad method.

Feeling of suffocation, tension and strong contractions in the chest caused by reflex activated by excess of accumulated carbon dioxide would be the most unpleasant part. The conditions of your method are easy to simulate by attempting to hold your breath continuously for 2 - 3 minutes, having the nose plugged by a hand.

Plesant or not, seems unlikely to work. I always have some strong tape nearby and want to use it after drinking and taking pills, hoping to die from vomit while unconsious.

I can see it working for myself if I was in huge physical pain and wanted it to stop. Trock is to make my brain have to pick between 2 bad options and suffocating would be better. Or when taping my face and jumping off a bridge.
