So I'm getting some blood test done today and I'm expecting very bad news.

Will there be any point using the crisis line? Have they helped anyone?

I'm already seeing a private counselor I can't avoid for £50 and on a 3 month waiting list for NHS CBT that I know won't help.

I'm feeling kinda hopeless right now when I get the bad news I'm going to be the worst I've ever been should I phone the crisis team and tell them I want to ctb? Will it just make it worse ?

I don't want to die but I can't live like this and I feel so alone.
Probably not the best time to ask at 06:41 Monday morning..

I think you yourself are the best to judge what the best choice is. If you're this hopeless maybe it's the right choice. If you're in a crisis and want to ctb, it probably is.

Do you have someone (family, friends) that know you personally that you can talk about this?

I Do have family but they don't help just tell me to deal with it etc I'm very close to crisis i don't want to ctb but there seems like no other option. I just don't want to make things worse I hear mixed things about the Crisis team here.

That's very unfortunate that your family isn't of much help. If you're very close to a crisis but just not there... Will you wait for things to improve on their own? Do you think that will happen?

No I don't see things improving I expect it to get far worse unless the crisis team are able to give some kind of meds I cant see how they can help me ether I wouldn't mind if they sedated me tho.

They're not going to sedate you I think unless if you're an immediate threat to yourself. If you need meds the doctor or psychiatrist is the right person to see but that takes time.

I recently went through the psych hospital crisis team as an outpatient. I phoned them as I was feeling suicidal and in crisis. The service is 6 weeks where, during the first several weeks, you go there 3 times a week and are seen by a nurse, social worker or psychiatrist.

For me it was a mixed bag. Some nurses were good, others were okay, the psychiatrist just gave me a ton of stress, constantly saying I would get fired from my job if I didn't return to work soon while in the same breath doubling my medication dosage because I was hallucinating really bad. The last fit note with her I was crying and begging because I couldn't return to work while I was afraid that objects in my house would hurt me and feeling like the bus was a spaceship taking me to space to kill me.

The experience was good in the sense that I had that continuous support and I was prescribed medication that helped with my symptoms. The bad part was that they took a long ass time to increase my medication to the appropriate amount, which resulted in me suffering with psychotic symptoms for longer than necessary. I'm still dealing with them today.

Maybe your experience will be better than mine, this was in the Midlands. I'd say it's worth it if you want to see a psychiatrist and want to get medication to help with your symptoms.

If you want to at least try to recover or don't know what you want, then go for it. It's a lot easier to get referrals to longer term services if you're already working with them. However, if you are dead set (sorry) on CTB then I'd say no as they are set up to get through the crisis and expect you to work with them. Refusing to do so causes all sorts of extra stress. And remember that thanks to the current funding crisis, they're over stretched and under resourced and simply cannot do everything that the individual practitioners want to do to help. (I'm saying this as someone currently under the crisis team, moving between wanting to CTB and trying to hang on for the sake of others, if not myself.)

If you feel like you're on the verge of killing yourself or harming yourself definitely use it.

It may help you get treatment sooner.

May I ask, why do you expect bad news and in what sense?
I was taking steroids last year was on a trt dose with a doctor but upped it to a low gym cycle for a while and I think I've fucked my kidneys with that or the b6 I was taking, last had it in October and end of November start having issues peeing and since then I'm getting worse symptoms.

Had bloods in December that were slightly lower but went to a&e in Jan and it was lower again.

Thanks had ultrasound today that came back normal but I don't think that rules out much really scared of the blood results still tempted to contact crisis team before I get back rock bottom again but unless they can do something for my anxiety might be pointless.

My anxiety is the worst of it.

I think if you're still feeling bad, contacting the crisis team would be a good idea. I think it's a good idea to highlight that while the thing you were worried about hasn't come to pass, it hasn't actually relieved how you're feeling. Have you tried speaking to your GP as well, as they're normally the ones that can prescribe for you? I think the crisis team can too at short notice, but it is normally in urgent situations, it is more likely that they'll refer you to your GP.

I still don't know if the thing I was worried about has come to pass the scan doesn't tell you how well the kidneys are working and I'm stressing out of my mind about the blood test.

Just got up after 5 hours of sleep urine was a strong yellow and I'm right back the edge again.

I can't face what I've done to myself.
