UK Assisted Dying Bill, deferral potentially 4 Years implementation to 2029 . Therefore, a potential maximum 4 Year backstop is possible following proposed parliamentary amendment to allow for systems and procedures, etc. The bill has yet to pass 3rd reading and vote on the path to legislation so it could fail too, and then further scrutiny by the lords will take place, even if it gets that far. Of course this is disappointing to me personally as Im dealing with chronic illness along with many others who now face potential delays and ongoing pain and suffering. We also face a General Election in 2029 at the latest so you can see the potential deralaying of the whole Bill, especially in light of this labour government who are not certain to win in 2029. Im utterly depressed now with this dibarcle not just for me but for the suffering everywhere. So the Bill remains unlawful until potentially at least 2029, and / or it could fail or simply fizzle out.
