I've always considered ctb by train as a fail safe method, but after reading about someone surviving and lose an arm I'm starting to doubt myself.
I was considering going a couple days without sleep, then drink sleep aid and lay on the tracks so the train could decapitate me while I sleep.
Is there flaws to this?

According to this, the survival rate is 3.8%. Quite high lethality. One of the difficulties of this method is spotting the right place where trains run at sufficiently high speed. You should lay on the track right before the train passes instead of sleeping. You'll toss and turn when sleeping and your neck gets off the track. And the operator or pedestrians on the neighboring roads are more likely to find you if you are sleeping for a long time.

If a train hits you, it's over. Decapitation is ideal, but unless you get hit by a slow train, you're done. I still don't think it's reliable because a lot of people's SI will kick in and they'll fright out of it, but the below image NSFW is how you'd ideally go through with it.

Thank you! May I ask if you know the ideal speed range for decapitation?

Sorry I don't know. When it comes to decapitation and not impact, speed might be less important as far as trains are not able to stop before running you over. That being said higher speed is better. Please check the time table of the stations near the site and find when expresses are operating.

Curious if laying in a tunnel would help? it'd be dark, and no one would know you're there - although I feel like there would be cameras plastered everywhere to prevent someone going on the tracks.

I don't think the speed would even matter, the sheer weight of a train would just cut you in half if you were laid across the track

Trains are pretty lethal, though you've got the issue of traumatising the operator. A friend of mine had to take like 2 years of leave after he "ran" someone over. Trains take about 1km to stop, so even if you're jumping from a platform you should be good.

Fun fact, trains crushing someone apparently sounds like running over a pumpkin.

I took subways for the majority of my life. People would jump in front of the trains from time to time and fuck up the whole system, but I don't know details beyond that. I'm a squeamish POS. Still, it was my go-to dream method while I lived there.

German study showing that, out of lying on the track, walking in front of a train or jumping from a platform, lying had the highest fatality rate (jumping the lowest). I feel like it'd be scarier/more complicated to lie down though, I always envisage myself walking in front of one between two stations. I live right next to a station and have scoped it out quite a bit.
