Steins;gate was a memorable anime. It kinda starts carefree like Trigun did, but if you stick around for a while it will shake your world.
I know there is also a game (visual novel?) but I never played it. I can assume it is even better as it can often be the case with original source.

Just use this day to enjoy and treat yourself you deserve it. I do not like birthdays either and I have to pretend to be happy whenever it's my birthday because in my family no one ever listens nor takes me seriously when I open up about stuff.
