I am a dude who is suicidal and mentally not balanced. In the beginning, I used to live in a big home I was fine then due to some issues we became poor like we lost the home and everything and I had to live in a sht house for most of my prime to save up money. I was trying to make money from 2015 and only in 2024 things started to turn around for the better and I started to make some money. What I noticed is that whenever I make some I feel this calm and rush inside my body that is like a coolant or drinking a cool glass of water in a hot day. Whenever I tried to build something with people they have been dishonest as they thought they can take advantage of me. Apart from that calm of hitting a new target in total ownership, I feel nothing, no feelings of love and general happiness, but I do feel all the negative emotions. So, my verdict is that if you are a suicidal person money might be the only real and potent drug there is to keep you alive and save u or bring some real value to your life. All other religious or whatever bs is all wrong if you feel that money doesn't bring happiness then feel free to give poverty a go.

For me even with decent money in the bank i have the constant anxiety of losing it. What causes a self fulfilling profecy by getting depressed and unable to function properly. I wish i could just numb my thoughts and keep my mind of it

I make more than I need. I'm not wealthy. Middle class. But I don't spend it all. I have rent plus groceries. The rest sits around. I'd put it in a retirement account but I know I won't be here at 65.

I understand people who have money troubles, but it really isn't important. Money buys convenience and convenience doesn't make you happy. I'd trade every dollar I have and be poor in exchange for not being anxious and lonely and miserable.

for me I just want a steady income. Just work one place, steady income and insurance. I had it and took it for granted.
Now I'm miserable and always will be.
I didn't ever feel the need to be rich. Just comfortable.

for me money can buy happiness,(happiness through reducing suffering)
but it's a different kind of happiness—one that's more about reducing suffering than increasing happiness
If I had money, I'd have the confidence to say no to things I don't want to do, more freedom to make my own choices, and the ability to choose healthier ways to cope when life gets difficult. It could also bring some short-term pleasure.
maybe I see it this way because I've spent so much of my life in a poor environment with very limited resources. money can't solve every problem, but it can prevent many new ones from arising.

There are MANY things money can't buy. Attractiveness, social skills, a clean criminal/psychiatric record, freedom from mental illness, freedom from disability, real friends, a family you get along with, the list goes on. Are their people whose only problems are financial? Of course. But there are many others who would still have serious issues even if they had enough money to last the rest of their lives.

Money won't fix my incurable syndrome, nor will it fix the lifelong trauma my mother, family and society have given me. I am already living in poverty as it is as well. Money can't fix everything.

It does bring happiness especially if you're having serious financial problems.. it's doesn't in the existential sense when you don't have major money problems.. too much money and time is a thing..

Anyways.. it absolutely makes people happy especially if you're an average person..

It doesn't mean anything if you're a millionaires many times over..
