    Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

    If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

is it really true that after 30 minutes there's no way to survive a (not partial) hanging? and does it take around 20 seconds to pass out if everything is done correctly? i just want to make sure

Well, the 30 minutes timeframe is to avoid to being found and cut out, but apparently the brain death (When the brain stops any functions), could be achieved earlier if the hypoxia remained for 10 minutes without interruptions.
As I read in different sources, specially the Geo Stone, the ideal timeline of hanging will be:

- 0.01 - 0.20 minutes: Lose of consciousness, specially if the carotid artery are occluded totally by the pressure of the rope;
- 1.00 - 5;00 minutes: Convulsions, and panic mode when the body tries to recover, and hypoxia of the brain. Here, the brain suffers several damage, but not necessarily irreversible;
- 5:00 - 10:00 minutes: The lack of oxygen at the brain could be enough for an irreversible damage and technically could be a brain death, as the brain and body couldn't recover by his own;
- 10:00 - 20:00 minutes: Certainly total death, as the body organs are deprived of oxygen and the body couldn't function properly, since the brain couldn't deliver oxygen.
- 20:00 minutes - beyond: Fully death without any chance of recovery, or organ donation.

So, if the noose is positioned correctly, you can achieve unconsciousness at 20 seconds, or even a little earlier, depending of your body weight and how the rope are restricing the carotid artery. And about death, well, the earliest will be 5 minutes (If in your country brain death is the definitve criteria), and the least 20 minutes after hanging.
Maybe I'm daydreaming, but I hope my hanging will go this way as well. The "30 minutes alone" timeframe is to avoid any rescue and being a vegetative state.
