Those of you who plan to ctb, what methods are you using or plan to use to overcome your SI?

Mostly just curious, but also looking for ideas I can use to fight my own SI.

Honestly I hope in the case of an attempt I'm in so much desperation and hopelessness that SI will be easy to defeat. My method of choice is CO (or if I can get hands on certain drugs/meds I'd use an OD) both methods may not have a very strong SI as basically it can be arranged like going to sleep. That's my strategy for now.

When you'll be really ready, there will be no need to fight it, so stop pushing yourself I guess. Personally I think that hanging is the best way. Once it's done - there is no way of coming back (if you planned everything well of course)

I know lots of people don't feel like they need them, and can ctb just through sheer willpower. Personally though, I have a pretty anxious disposition, which has pulled me back from the brink of dying several times

Next time i attempt I will be as sedated as I need to be to not freak out when I ctb

I'm planning to do full suspension where I will pass out almost immediately so hopefully that will take care of it.

I did have a precious attempt foiled by SI (automatic after I was already unconscious) and, in hindsight, I probably should have handcuffed myself to possibly prevent it.

Depends on the method I end up using. Alcohol is a really good one, but it doesn't really go well with N or SN.
In that case, I'd go with weed and pills, I've tried Xanax a couple times and it was really nice :p

Also that's my Roomate's cat he's a shithead but he's really cute

Since I don't have any access to benzos and can't use alcohol SN, etc. I will have to fight an epic battle with my survival instinct, I don't think it will go completely and I don't think I will ever be 100% ready. So I will try to go through it when the SI is relatively low. I will always remind myself of my reasons and my miserable life in order to strengthen my resolve.

When I meant it but it failed I my SI was so quiet it might as well have been silent. But I do have a few benzos which I may or may not use.

I'm thinking lots of vodka, no sleep for a night before, then crawl in my tent with my burned down charcoal. Was planning SN but it's sounds complicated to get what's needed. I'm als9 building a firearm but really don't want to go out like that.

I never used to worry about SI. It wasn't even a thought in my head. But after finding this site, it started to terrify me. The one thing I have found that helps is rephrasing it in my head from suicide/killing myself to just going to sleep forever. One sounds so violent and final (which I appreciate, but my inner brain goes to town with) and the other, so peaceful.

I have never ATTEMPTED suicide. I have no intention of attempting suicide. When I CTB, I will succeed. I suppose that, as a Buddhist I will meditate and get myself into a state where my mind is not thinking or obsessing over anything. I would take the Meto. a few hours a head of time, Open and pour out the two bottles of N into a large glass, put the nose plug over my nose, drink down both bottles fairly quickly, and follow the N with something sweet (I've read that Bailey's Irish Cream is suggested, though I don't drink alcohol so I wouldn't know). I would then lie down in bed and...

Depends on the method. Alcohols the #1 SI depressant for most cases. Thats why something like 70% of suicides have had alcohol in their system at the time of their death

Also curious on this, tried to go a few years back (suspension hanging cutting off blood flow) and as I started blacking out my SI took over and stopped me. Annoying that my body wants to fight my brain...
