I haven't seen anything on here that's perverted, oversexed ,or out of control "salacious".

It's very rude, but at the same time it's so ignorant it's hilarious. So if they think this website is "salacious and a death cult", I wonder what they think of the Dalai Lama? Do they say he is "violent and a serial killer"?!? LOL

We're all mostly talking about very serious topics that affect people's lives profoundly, it's certainly not a "peep show" for crying out loud.

The only other exception to that seems to generally be a little bit of humor to try to help people vent, relax, work at some welcome distractions from their frustrations in life.

I've only seen very serious perspectives that are respectful, or humor to lighten the atmosphere temporarily to provide some relief. Or recovery…
Which is also very good for those who want to try. But I also certainly have never seen anything like what they described? a "death cult"?? Hmmm....

What's so bizarre is after everything i've experienced here that's 99% good As far as people being kind, supportive, caring, responsive, empathic, with very few exceptions,

Thanks for posting. I'm going to assume SS is not the only pro choice forum out there, but a very high probability that the article is referring to this place.

It also sounds like we have a media troll or two in the midst. This makes it difficult to exchange ideas in discussion since whatever we say here will essentially be in open channel if it gets echoed to the mainstream media.

So true dear. They are putting pressure on web providers to drop us. Gosh I will miss all of you if that ever happens. Been told it's getting harder to log on. Germany also. All because a page with 14 likes that has no idea how is to walk a mile in our shoes, we are actually doing better. The recovery section is more active than the ctb one, meaning this site is helping lots of people. I hope that never happens. Part of me will die along with it. This is where I come for comfort a laugh a hug to someone who needs it. Sigh….

Yes, it's funny how they don't even make an attempt to see things from our side. I said that about the NYT article, which is curiously odd for serious journalism. A member told me, I was screenshot in january 15 and my comment and avatar was on their page I literally dropped my phone. I don't have twitter but can what she writes as a guest can't we write to twitter and say she is using our avatars without our permission? She just breathes out fume. Well if this site ever gets closed I will open an account and will give an answer touching all her soft stops that she will never forget about me.

Wow and wow!! My thought would be that someone send a thoughtful letter to the editor-in-chief. Screw the writers of that piece who obviously aren't open to our input or side of the story. I can't believe you were displayed like that -- what a shock that must have been! And talk about questionable ethics that you weren't at least spoken to first. Again, very bizarre lack of journalistic standards!
