  • Hey Guest,

    Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

What are the things you learned from SS besides suicide?

Any useful experience, information that you learn from SS besides ctb?

For me. I found out from people's post about the term "flying monkeys" "enablers" "dysfunctional narcissistic family"

And i was really surprised that theres a term for that

Which made me realized, no wonder why im so isolated, traumatized and alone because im surrounded, not just by 1 psychopath but a bunch of minions that made me cornered, threaten ;-;

Finally figure it out eventhough its too late
the question that ive been questioning my whole life
although im still questioning why my parents can be so evil to abuse me until im ruined

;-;

I was pleasantly (?) surprised to realize how many people shared my exact same thoughts on a plethora of topics.

I knew that many people wanted to commit suicide but I didn't realize how many people had the identical outlook about existence, non-existence, reasons why they haven't done it yet, wants and wishes, fears, deficiencies, etc.

That was eye-opening for me. It's not something that gets promoted in society so you think you're the only alien on this planet.

We're spread out in all corners of the globe. I wish we could migrate to a single corner and claim it as ours.

The ones good with math and science would work on manufacturing our own supply of N and SN.

The ones gifted in the arts would use their talents to bring us a little joy. The able-bodied ones would look after the ones suffering with disabilities.

A utopic dystopia. Ha.

I agree! It's really validating to know that there are many other out there like me.
I really like that idea of utopic dystopia tho it's sounds really peaceful and nice. We could all spend our final days in community and support, helping others until it's our time
I wish it could be a reality 😔

I have found many people like me who are very nice folks. I have also found that there are people who suffer even worse lives than my own. (Still, I want to ctb though)!

I'm sorry you have suffered/ are suffering from being around narcissists. I'm fairly certain my step sibling was one and childhood was awful as a result. I absolutely agree though- to come across their behaviour described so accurately and find there is a term for it made a big difference to me. I actually found out through YouTube. I would highly recommend these creators who both talk about narcissistic abuse and CPTSD: 'Live Abuse Free' and 'Crappy Childhood Fairy.' Both of them somehow made me feel validated about my shitty experience. Like you say- it won't change what has happened but it feels reassuring that there is a term for them and their behaviour.

With regards to here. I am so grateful to this place. Just to be able to talk about a wide range of subjects with some really interesting and thoughtful people. I'm just so grateful for the support here.

Wow, I just learned something now. The term flying monkeys describes my family perfectly.

I couldn't even begin to describe what I've learned here. This place is the richest assortment of interesting people with amazing (if tragic) life experience imaginable.

There is nothing to be gained from this site other than method information, coming on here is basically a massive waste of time, it's pointless. But it isn't as though time has value in the first place so it couldn't possibly be something to be wasted.

Even with methods this site isn't always useful, it's just endless threads and information about all these different methods that continue to repeat. It can be confusing. Allowing the option of legalised peaceful methods would remove the need for suicide forums in the first place and this would be ideal. There's nothing that I even wish to really learn about, apart from finding ways to die. All knowledge is useless at the end of the day as it's undeniable how insignificant human life is.

Just that it's ok to want to die. I've never met anyone openly suicidal it's always a shock when I hear of someone I know doing it. I'm really happy I found this site.

Honestly, the people on here are like a breath of fresh air. I've found people who are helpful, have a shared interest and are not afraid to talk about things that "normal society" considers taboo.

I learned that to prolifers we are a wholly different world that they reluctant to understand. Instead of doing that they deem us alien and because they do not understand us, they attack us to protect themselves. Subconsciously their world, their sanity are threatened and lacking enough research and proper tools to deal with us, they start minimizing us, invalidating, deflecting us to convince themselves it is temporary and things for us will get better confiding in therapy and psychiatry. Sadly that "magic pill" does not work for everyone.

This mechanism of sanity protection works not only against community of depressed and suicidal people but other communities that all combined carry the label of marginals. Society does not have time, energy and resources for marginalized communities posing a threat to instability of the society. Nor do they have interest to deal with minority in addition to the typical routine problems that society has. If someone intentionally denies to listen then all what will be said and done will be in vain and we will never know that we are not the only ones who are treated like that.

Getting some ideas on how I can improve my sleep is proving to be useful, considering my GP doesn't want to give me any medication to help solve my sleeping problems due to both me being too young and the stronger sleeping medication apparently being very addictive.
