• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I hate this country from the very bottom of my heart. I really do.

My mother values an imaginary god over her own flesh and blood. I will never have an actual relationship with her or anyone else in my family, I just can't bring myself to. we'll meet up still, but at the end of the day, they'll never really love me. I feel so bitter seeing queer people with loving families. I hate it. that should be me. I really do feel like i'm cursed sometimes. I mean I wasted most of my teen years in a homophobic town. I had nearly zero friends. I was bullied so bad I developed PTSD.

The current administration gives me no hope for my future, no hope for my family. I have no fight left. I just want to die. Everyone is so fucking stupid we should all die.

How original.
Well, it's the most constructive suggestion.

Plenty of places that will be more friendly, even within the U.S. Will require a will to live in order to make the finances or studies work, but can have a tremendous impact on wellbeing.

I also met a gay man who left Tennessee for Canada because of the current political climate. Was working retail, so it didn't seem like it required a high-level work permit. Said he was much happier.

I think mac_se meant that to "move" is incredibly unhelpful as in much much harder than it sounds. There are so many factors in one's life that you cannot possibly consider as an outsider who knows literally nothing about them. I'm not trying to be a dick, you're "constructive suggestion" is actually kind of shitty and isn't really constructive at all. I think nearly half the country would just "move" if we could.
Also, not to speak for them, I don't believe they ever asked for suggestions, just to vent.

Anyways, @stoneybologne I'm really sorry that life is sometimes so shitty. While I'm from a small town, I lucked out on 1.5 parents (my mom's still a lil transphobic and married a horrible man, hence the .5, my step dad counts as 0). I can't say I know exactly how your situation feels, I do know being queer in the US can be fucking awful.
I'm trying to hold out hope for the next administration, but that seems further and further away. Regardless, I hope things do get better for you.

ik this is a old post but like....it's really fucking hard to just "move" especially in the current job market and economy where people are getting more poor. It's not like in 2016 where you can move willy nilly and find a job then work your way up.
