The time of N in Cuzco could be over

TL;DR: The veterinarians in Cuzco told me that due to people CTBing with N they don't sell it anymore and their providers also stopped supplying it.

So, I recently just was in Cuzco, not because of my immediate wish to CTB but regular travels. Nonetheless, since I eventually want to use N at some point I still tried acquiring it. I am pretty white but fluent in Spanish.

I went to about 10 veterinarians from the street in the PPEH, and none of them sold me N. In fact, one time I went in, asked the lady at the counter and someone else from across the store heard the H-word (the local N brand) and immediately just shouted "NO". So, I asked a few of the more casual seeming shopkeepers. One told me that their suppliers don't ship it anymore. Someone else said that foreign people used it to CTB, and this was noticed in a nearby hospital. He continued that some drama happened and a store was even closed. This happened half a year ago. Perhaps some stores would still have it, but if I wasn't rejected immediately they would ask for a prescription, so it seems difficult. I even put 200 USD on the table at a few after they told me no initially and they seemed unfazed.

I didn't try all the stores because some were closed already and since I wasn't desperate to find it. However, somebody else here said they recently found it in Cuzco, just for multiple hundred dollars, so it is not impossible.

As depressing as it is for me to have my plans distorted, and the best source of N according to the handbook apparently closed down, it is not surprising to me since the shopkeepers seem to know that foreigners buy it to CTB and they probably do not think it's worth losing their shop over a little bit of money.

On a side note, I also tried acquiring it in La Paz, Bolivia, and they also insisted on a prescription, even when directly offered a bribe. In fact, I even went to El Alto, which seems extremely poor and sketchy, and no luck there either. The situation is dire. Why does the world have to make it so painful for us?

Man, wonder what put that amount of fear into them. They're obviously afraid to be hold criminally responsible. It is amazing to me to what lengths those in control go to keep control over the people that refuse this existence. It is so clear to me that this is not coming from a place of compassion now.

if Nembutal were legal it would be about $20 a bottle , total bill would be $100 or less much less than a good smart phone or laptop or less than a week's groceries or monthly rent, or car payment etc.

a month's groceries or monthly rent can be around $1000 every month in the U.S.

for me all living expenses gas etc are about $3000 per month work for all that just to exist under threat of extreme torture. i'd rather pay $100 and no more payments no more pain ever

OP if you don't mind can you post a pic of any Cuzco landmark to prove you visited?For privacy reasons, we do not need to see a pic of you just the place. Since you literally joined yesterday, I have a suspicion you might be just trying to dissuade people.this is also your very first post.

Lie or not, it makes sense. Looking at the situation from the sellers' (veterinarians') point of view, they won't risk their careers and freedom just to "help" someone take their own life. It is understandable.

Governments should make euthanasia safe, peaceful, and pain-free, accessible to all. Without having to compromise other people with our desire to leave this world.

Thanks for sharing your experience. It was clear pretty long time ago that it's not smart to go the veterinarias mentioned in the PPH. Some people have had success in very small rural tows. I wonder if that is still possible. And thanks for telling us about Bolivia, your experience sounds similar to the ones people have had here. Why do they make it so damn difficult.

I only went to a single veterinarian close to the airport in Lima, and they didn't give it to me. I really hope that it's possible to get it in the outskirts of Lima like some people managed to do.
A visit to Mexico is not something I'll do in the near future.

Yeah, it is worth it! Peace! Is there no sources to buy it online from one of the stores in PPeH? It would probably be stopped in customs though. If I knew someone in Mexico ,Peru I would ask them to pack it in coffee cans, might work

Resumindo: Os veterinários em Cuzco me disseram que, devido ao uso indevido de N em cães, eles não o vendem mais e seus fornecedores também pararam de fornecê-lo.

Então, estive recentemente em Cusco, não por um desejo imediato de obter a certificação CTB, mas sim por conta de viagens regulares. Mesmo assim, como pretendo usar a certificação N em algum momento, tentei obtê-la. Sou bastante branca, mas falo espanhol fluentemente.

Visitei cerca de 10 clínicas veterinárias na região de PPEH, e nenhuma delas me vendeu N. Aliás, certa vez, entrei em uma, perguntei à atendente e alguém do outro lado da loja ouviu a palavra "H" (a marca local de N) e imediatamente gritou "NÃO!". Então, perguntei a alguns dos lojistas que pareciam mais tranquilos. Um deles me disse que seus fornecedores não enviavam mais o medicamento. Outro disse que estrangeiros o usavam para tratar a tuberculose bovina, e isso foi notado em um hospital próximo. Ele continuou dizendo que houve um problema e que uma loja chegou a ser fechada. Isso aconteceu há seis meses. Talvez algumas lojas ainda tenham o medicamento, mas se eu não fosse recusado imediatamente, eles pediriam uma receita, então parece difícil. Cheguei a oferecer 200 dólares em algumas clínicas depois de me recusarem inicialmente, e eles pareceram não se importar.

Não tentei em todas as lojas porque algumas já estavam fechadas e eu não estava desesperado para encontrar. No entanto, alguém aqui disse que encontrou recentemente em Cuzco, por algumas centenas de dólares, então não é impossível.

Por mais deprimente que seja para mim ter meus planos distorcidos e a melhor fonte de N, de acordo com o guia, aparentemente fechada, não me surpreende, já que os lojistas parecem saber que os estrangeiros compram para a CTB e provavelmente não acham que valha a pena perder a loja por um pouco de dinheiro.

Aliás, também tentei conseguir o medicamento em La Paz, na Bolívia, e eles insistiram em exigir receita médica, mesmo quando ofereci suborno. Na verdade, cheguei a ir até El Alto, que parece ser extremamente pobre e suspeito, e também não tive sorte lá. A situação é desesperadora. Por que o mundo tem que tornar as coisas tão difíceis para nós?

Tentei encontrar um fornecedor de N no meu país, mas sem sucesso... então comecei a enviar mensagens pelo WhatsApp para algumas clínicas no Peru. Achei que seria difícil, mas 3 clínicas veterinárias concordaram em me vender o N... Acabei negociando com uma que achei mais amigável. Levei uma receita que consegui com um veterinário da minha cidade, mas acredite, eles nem pediram... claro que acabei pagando um extra pela conveniência e gentileza. O veterinário até entregou no meu hotel!

It's important that when people go sourcing for this they don't just chug it right then and there or at a hotel and ruin it for everyone when the hospitals start creating an issue
