In 5 days I get to see my psychiatrist...
I know I"m going to be asked "are you suicidal", "do you have a plan", "do you have a date"
I know, because I was asked this before.

And when they ask a plan, they ask "what"... I am so going to have to get good at lieing in person.
--------------------------

I think I just made a bunch of stuff up because I didn't really know what to say, as I said above. For one thing, I don't really think it's any of his business what I do all day. What has that got to do with anything, especially since he doesn't believe that I have brain fog or any other low thyroid symptoms? That's really what I do all day. I spend all day fighting to stay awake and deal with all the symptoms of the low thyroid that he doesn't think I have.

Whoa.... how can he not believe you don't have brain fog?!? He should just believe you!

Actually, I was saying good night to @MysticPerception. I'm not going to bed yet. I don't want to spend hours staring at the ceiling. I guess I didn't make it clear who I was saying good night to in that post, did I?

It's okay, I just prepaid your goodnight then hehe.

Yeah, I hated that when they used to ask me that. It just surprises me that they even ask because do they really think you're going to tell them the truth. I mean, they know that you know if you tell them the truth they're going to stick you in the psych ward so, they must know that you're not going to tell them the truth if you are suicidal. And you're definitely not going to tell them if you have a plan, not if you have any sense unless you just want to end up in the psych ward.

I'm going to end up doing my half-truth thing really with the questions, lie, but answer in a 'it's true within the bounds which i consider the question to mean'

If I was honest, I'd be in a psych ward.

I'm glad your doctor didn't make you feel bad about the chronic fatigue syndrome and that she actually believes that you have chronic fatigue syndrome AND that she actually believes chronic fatigue syndrome is a real thing and not just something that you made up in your head. Because that's what all the doctors were telling me, well except the alternative care doctors who diagnosed me with it. When I went back and tried to discuss it with a conventional medical doctor, he just waved his hands and dismissed me and told me that all that testing and results that the alternative care doctor did didn't mean anything because they weren't scientific. There's no such thing as chronic fatigue syndrome, according to him.

Last time I told them I was suicidal, I did have a plan, BUT the date was in the future, making a psych ward pointless--it would've been useless to put me in one. (since theirs is max 7 days, normal 72hours).

But yeah, given what I have now, nope. No way they'd let me leave with a 100% chance of harm.

Probably good that they're not hooking their patients up to lie detectors when they ask them those questions. LOL!

Nothing wrong with winding down :)

When I was younger I worked like half a shift, drove 2.5 hours, worked a shift at another place, drove 2.5 hours, did the 'second half' to the shift in the original town, went home (basically I was up 24 hours working and driving)... had to run a few miles to wind down!

Now though, I'd crash before that lol

Wait. . . Do you mean crash as in fall asleep, or crash as in crash the car. I think I know which one you mean, but I just thought I'd ask for clarification.

That sounds super intense (like camping, ahaha), I don't know if I would be able to do that! How many days did you work a week?

That was just one day fortunately. It was when I was just doing orientation at a new job when heading to college, but still had a day left at an old job, but college was 2.5 hours away, and I was like... 18? so I didn't think much of it at the time :)

It did make for a long day, as I had to do a clothing change too for the different jobs.

im so sorry you had to experience that.

It's diagnosis through exclusion so i dont know what tests would help. do you think you have the same symptoms and that its likely?

I don't think I could do it, but I mean I have/had a TON of energy so I could see how it would be possible..but man that sounds uncomfortable. I start to become bitchy and whiny when I get over tired, and sometimes I have toddler fits as my roommate calls them. Did you drive at night or day more? Or a mix?

Also, I have a question..can you see people's age and location currently? I can't see anyone's and haven't been able to for a few days, trying to figure out if I did something or if it's a new change.

Well, I was tested for a bunch of viruses that are likely causes of it. As of now, I don't know that they've narrowed down exactly which virus causes it, but the last I heard they believed it was caused by a virus. So I was tested for a bunch of different viruses, many of which I had. And I was also tested for adrenal fatigue which I had. And I did a bunch of other tests that I can't remember at this point, but they said it was very likely that I have chronic fatigue syndrome.

Hmmm. . . That's interesting. I hadn't noticed that until you pointed it out. I don't know if it's just the people on here or all over the forum. I don't normally look at that so I don't always notice it. I wonder if they did change it, maybe the other day when they were messing around with everything and they knocked the site out for a while.

They may have undone the age thing? probably when they had to undo the change they did when no one could post--it probably unintentional did something... maybe... who knows.

For me it's all over the site. It had to have been unintentional if so because the option to show your age and birthday are still there.

In recent years they have changed the name of chronic fatigue syndrome because that name was so stigmatized in the medical profession. It's now called ME or Myalgic
encephalomyelitis, which sounds more medical and scientific sounding then chronic fatigue syndrome. I think they also changed the name because it's much more than just chronic fatigue. It has many other symptoms. Also, in my case, it had a lot to do with my adrenal glands and how they inter played with my thyroid and my other glands and systems. The doctors told me that because my thyroid had been untreated or under treated for so long, That in turn put extra pressure on my adrenals to the point where I suffered adrenal exhaustion. And that in turn put pressure on other glands and systems in my body and put me in a position to catch one of these viruses. So basically it's a set of dominoes and one thing leads to the next thing.

I'm so sorry you have to go through that. :( I know some people who have thyroid issues, it can be very horrible to deal with.
