I dont think this method is that easy to pull off and seems to be not that succesful

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

Why do you think that? The method is also in the book "five last acts". The author seems pretty confident about it.I dont think this method is that easy to pull off and seems to be not that succesful
There arent many documented succesful attemps...I might try It tho because seems SN is not longer an option for me...Why do you think that? The method is also in the book "five last acts". The author seems pretty confident about it.
I've tried this and similar several times. I couldn't get it to work though. I had a hard time closing only my carotid artery, so my head filed with blood and I aborted my attempt. The closest I came was when I place the socks further away from my adams apple and more or less below my ear, instead of just to the right of my adams apple. Thanks for this detailed thread! Do you or does anyone know if it's feasible to do it properly and thus successfully for someone trying it for the first time, or is a bit of experience required? I'm planning on trying it later today while drunk.
Thanks, I'll try this next! I keep just getting to the point where it's so tight that I'm suffocating instead of restricting blood flow sadlyI've tried this and similar several times. Update: it didn't work :(Thanks, I'll try this next! I keep just getting to the point where it's so tight that I'm suffocating instead of restricting blood flow sadly
I've been trying to find my sweet spot for so long now (aka that was my first considered method back in 2024) and your advice with the thumbs and hand behind the neck actually worked! Thank you so much :)Hi there, I think it's still too early to supply diagrams or photos indicating exact spots, for the following 2 reasons:
(1) Whereas my success rate is no longer zero, it is still just approximately 10 percent, i.e. 1 out of 10 attempts at locating the "sweet spots" on both sides simultaneously is successful at present. So I need much more practice here.
(2) As mentioned earlier, I am presently able to attain a near loss of consciousness, but not full unconsciousness. The sensation is one of detachment and mild euphoria, akin to that said to be experienced by teenagers when they play their "fainting game". So here too, I need a lot more practice.
As concerns the approximate location of the spots:
Along the vertical axis, the spots are located in the upper third of my throat, entirely in contrast, for example, to the tests conducted here (where the pressure was applied to the lower third of the throat):
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3848716
I'll occasionally continue to try the lower third too, but am much more impressed by the upper third.
Along the horizontal axis, it's best to start applying pressure starting at the edges of the thyroid cartilage and slowly working your way outwards toward the carotid arteries. Don't go too far out or you will start constricting the jugular veins too, which is not a good idea, I've heard.
As I also mentioned earlier, use of both thumbs alone is enough for me to attain the state of detachment and mild euphoria described above, so I'm guessing that in the final setup - whether ratchet strap with bags or blood-pressure cuff with pads, or whatever else - the bags/pads will not need to be very large, and would indeed become counter-productive beyond a certain size.
My hands are positioned as shown in the attached photo, except that the thumbs are free and used at the front to apply pressure to the throat.View attachment 196675
I'll continue providing updates as and when important benchmarks are attained. Good luck!
Is there any video example of that? I've seen the guy on bed vid. Slight blue face, but didn't see bulging eyes.see me with bulged eyes and a blue puffed face.
I think we all worry about that. It's the biggest problem with this method. If you fail: There are very serious consequences that may stop a future attempt depending how bad they are. Partial hanging carries similar risks.I've a thick neck from sports/working out at younger age. Haven't done anything in some years, but it's hard to find the right points. Anyone got a video of someone with a thicker neck doing night night? All the successful (less painful looking:shorter time vids for fsh had very thin necks for example).

Does anyone worry about giving yourself brain damage for each time you're restricting blood flow?
What about with tourniquet instead of the ratchet?
That's very good to know, thanks for the heads up! And sorry you had to go through that. Vomiting on its own is rough.Dont drink beforehand i did and ended up throwing up everywhere which isnt great when youve got rope around your neck. This method isnt likely to work just so you are aware its only made for certain people really but its your choice to try.![]()
It's good to hear you have found the sweet spot at all! I have been trying a lot, had no luck and am starting to think it's not really possible. I've also found I can feel the arteries moving around under my fingers and they slip off from side to side. I think maybe pushing back towards the thick muscle behind the artery might do something useful. I've tried with socks too and no dice. I wondered, if my theory about pushing back towards the muscles works if double A or even 9 volt batteries under a strap might do the job.Hi all, I found this method a while ago, and it seems like the best way for me. But recently I have been practicing, and I struggle to find the sweet spot reliably. When I do find the sweet spot, it is a *VERY* obvious painless sensation of passing out *VERY* quickly. But I've so far only been able to find the sweet spot with my fingers, and that too unreliably. Having my fingers on the pulse is not good enough, it seems I need to press in a specific way, in just the right direction. Its like the artery might just slip left or right if I press wrong, and then all I get is exploding head sensation.
I've been trying with a luggage strap and a rolled up pair of socks, as well as with a couple of medicine bottles thinking maybe I need something harder than socks, but so far I've never found the sweet spot that way.
Have any of you found a more reliable way of finding the sweet spot?
Would a cornholebag really make the difference? Or is my anatomy just not right for this method?

That sounds like a pretty good hit rate to me. Maybe it's something that you can get really good at over a couple of weeks and then adapt it to your method.Yeah, I've found the sweet spot a few more times yesterday, with my fingers. I seem to be getting better at finding it with my fingers.
Yes, it has occurred to me that my scrawny neck doesn't have enough hard stuff in it to push the arteries againstI'm starting to think this shit might work better for marines like OP, because they're buff well trained people; and muscular people often have their vains closer to the surface.
My neck is pretty mushy too, outside the adams apple. I need to press fairly deep with my fingers to compress the artery, which is pretty much the problem with this method. Anything you put under the strap to create that pressure point needs to be big enough that it pushes deep enough, but small enough that it isn't just putting uniform pressure over a large surface (like a beanbag would). That sounds like a pretty good hit rate to me. Maybe it's something that you can get really good at over a couple of weeks and then adapt it to your method.

Yeah, it's disappointing - I had that same feeling. I wonder if you leave it for a bit and come back to it, you might have more luck. I have been thinking about shallow water blackout. I have these dreamy visions in my head of slowly passing out and dying in the crystal clear water of a beach, by myself in the middle of nowhere with the hot sun beating down. It feels a bit like some of the thoughts I was having when I first heard about the nighty night method, so I imagine it'll be harder than it sounds, but I will give it a try. There is a mega thread about it https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/shallow-water-blackout.4315/.Ok, I've still not managed it any other way than with my fingers... And that too unreliably. I'm concluding that it's not going to work for me. It's probably technically possible, but its going to be pure luck if I ever find the sweet spot with a couple corks under a strap, like a casino slot machine... which isn't exactly a method to rely on...
I'm kinda sad now, because this seemed like such a quick and peaceful low risk method... But I guess its only for the lucky few with the right anatomy.
Not sure what to do now. Considering CO, which also seems a peaceful method, but the risk of becoming a vegetable if I fail scares me. And a CO meter that can measure high enough concentration to test the setup seems hard to find/very expensive.
