  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Long article, read part of it. Child suicide is very tragic, often caused because bullying at school. Very sad.

Thank you for sharing this. [I cannot pick a good emoticon for what I am feeling r.n.]

I wonder how many people here were bullied (I was).

I wonder how many people here were already depressed in childhood and adolescence and didn't get treatment (I was).

P.S. Is it odd that right at the top of the additional suggested articles for me there was this one?

Are there any parents or older people who can answer this question :

Do you think the youth of today are more or less nasty with respect to bullying ? Looking for honest opinions on the subject

I would think that they're actually less nasty… The kind of bullying I was subjected to in high school would now be prevented… At the time I remember complaining to a teacher who just shrugged it off… Now they would risk a lawsuit… That said, it's clear from this article that bullying persists… Kids can be incredibly cruel…

Bullied for most all years os school - can't count how many times I was beaten up. Couldn't even join sports without emerging from the shower with my clothes shoved into a toilet full of shit. Nothing I could do helped ..... so yeah, kids are brutal.

Bullying is increasingly less likely to be brushed off as just a bit of drama or roughhousing that's part and parcel of growing up. It has to have a semi-societally-approved reason to exist. Reasons abound now more than ever though.

Bullying can be worse today because it can take place on social media. Having said that I was bullied mercilessly as a child.

What stands out to me is how a child, clearly troubled, still falls through the cracks—and with that sort of affluence behind them. People get their damn teeth looked at twice a year, it should be the same with their mental health.

I think they are less nasty, more are willing to say something and help others. However maybe they internalize it too much and end up making it define them into being the victim which in turns allows the bully to continue controlling them long past the actual bullying.

Fun read. Anticlimactic ending though.
